Jackman: Do the bears really deserve a break?  Do you want some cheese to go with that whine?

The Pats earned the praise they are getting this year.  They were not a favorite to even win thier own division let alone anything else.  Also all active future HOF QBs get fluffed by the media.  Its the nature of the beast.
Anyway keep talking, it makes Mondays much more fun!!

I think the Pats are a great team and very fun to watch.  They have one of the best coaches of all time and I'm a fan of Brady. How can you not respect and admire the way this team plays and the classiness of the whole organization.

I was just saying the ESPN dominated sports media really favors the PATS. You want to talk expectations, the Bears were picked to finish theirs or forth in their division. I think the over under was seven or eight games for them. They have no offensive line, questionable running backs and no good receivers. I'm not whining but I expect the douchbags on ESPN to totally favor the Pats as they always do.  They factor all east coast teams. I'm used to it

Cheers
Jack.  Go BEARS!!!

The Pats get talked up for the same reason they get bashed- they're winners.  They're one of the most successful franchises of the last couple decades and one of the very rare "dynasties" of the salary cap era.  They have a brilliant coach and probably the best QB in the NFL, but aside from that they've succeeded with a lot of role players.  The media didn't pick their name out of a hat to fawn over, NE has earned it.  The Bears have done what since McMahon and the "Superbowl Shuffle"?  One trip to a lopsided Superbowl loss.  They're getting the adulation (or lack thereof) that their play over the last decade or three merits.

Of course, they're still in better shape than my Vikes! :duh:

Ah, the Bears are perennial favorites cause of their long history and city and one I admire.  Belichek (? for spelling) is such a smart cookie they may be the now generation's next Bears.  Ole Belichek (?) dealt Moss for a third round draft pick.  He ain't no dummy.  Far from it.

Besides, Belichek took Woodhead.  Maybe just in case the Giants are gonna get there, huh?  Whoever.  Talent and ATTITUDE.

I disagree with you about one thing.  It's not fair to compare the Bears to the Pats.   The Pats are a REAL winning organization and the Bears, aside from the '85 victory, have not won anything.  The superbowl against Indy was a disgrace and they haven't been close since.

The Pats should be huge favorites because they have a better coach (the best of all time in my opinion) and a HOF QB, along with an excellent defense.  I'm just saying the ESPN crew favors East coast teams, and the Pats are no exception.  If it was the Giants, Jets, etc., it would be the same.  ESPN is biased against midwest teams.

Lastly, the Bears are NOT perennial favorites, far from it.  The Bears were barely in the top three in their division, after the Viqueens and the Packers.  Even in Chicago, no one picked them to finish higher than third place, missing the playoffs.  One big victory against the Eagles has people hopeful but next weekend against the Pats is the true test.  If they get bounced at home, it's all over with, no matter how well they do afterwards.  The Pats are the true test.

Nice reply.  True, I have to remember how old I am.  I'm Rick Caseras old.  My wife has to remind me all the time.  The Bears will be prepared, as well as they can get, for the Pats.  The question is, can their offense take advantage of the turnovers.  Assuming they get a few.  I'm assuming they will, but, you know what they say about assuming.  Cheers.

Cowgirls against the new SPCA poster boy tonite, should be a good game. Right now Vick is saying and doing all the right things, it would be nice to see him maintain this image and not fall back into the low life arena he harbored for all those years.

While the Giants @ Vikings game had already been postponed til monday night @ 8pm est, the game has now been moved to Detroit after the Metrodome's roof collapsed under the weight of too much snow. Farve says he wouldn't have started had the game been played Sunday.

On another note, I had a 1st time occurance last night when while watching I Division II playoff game on CBS Sports Ch. between Minnesota Duluth vs NW Missouri St (undefeated Duluth won 17-13) , the wind was so strong that it was overpowering my subwoofer and I ended up having to shut if off just to watch the game. Never had that happened before.  :duh:

Here in Vermont on the western slopes of the Green Mtns, we have an afternoon of 25-35mph winds with gusts up to 70mph so losing power for tonites Dallas/Philly game is a strong possiblity. Damn wind caused me to be w/o power 23 hours just last week.  :duh:  Mother nature can be a real bitch!  :icon_twisted:

Enjoy the games!  :thumb:

Snow? In Minnesota? No wonder the engineers that designed this thing were taken by surprise! At least no one was hurt, unlike at the Cowboys facility when the tornado hit it.

My man!  Do I even have to say I'm taking the Bears?  In case anyone is wondering,  I'm taking the Bears.

The local papers are split, and many "homers" are taking the Pats.  Brady plays well in poor weather so the conditions may actually favor the Pats.  Bears have the best FG kicker in the game (my opinion but he's as good as I've seen) Robbie Gould.  It will be ironic if the game is decided by a Gould FG because he was originally drafted by the Pats.  He is the third best % kicker of all time and that's no small feat because he kicks half of his games in one of the most difficult places in the league.

Go Bears!

So far Vick has been an inspiration and model citizen.  I hope he keeps it up because he is an amazing talent.  For the record, I think he will keep it up because he has seen the other side (of a prison cell) and I think he prefers the alternative.

All depends on how Cutler plays.  He is the teams Achilles’ heel.  If he handles the pass rush with the proper read and doesn't turn over the ball, Bears win.   This is Cutlers game to win or lose.

Using logic, you have to go with the Pats.  Brady is playing lights out,  couple that with Belicheck's defensive adjustments, a W for Pats.

I have No faith in Lovie or Jerry Angelo!

I still like the Bears chances in this game.

I don't think anyone could have stated it better.  Also, I have zero faith in Angelo or Lovie and still want to see both out of here ASAP.

Go Bears!

Snowing like crazy in Chicago but both teams are winter oriented so it should be a fun game to watch.

Well, as much as I was sure the Pats would roll 'em I think the weather may help Da Bearz.  The weather is horrible here in South Dakota and probably worse there.  Just watched the footage of the Metrodome collapsing- pretty unreal!  And imagine, it's not even officially winter for another week! :duh:
