The Cinnicinati reality show receivers aren't showing much tonite (or any night so far this season). Maybe TO/Ocho better stick to a VH1/Versus career & leave the football to the more serious players. I'm getting really tired of seeing their faces on the sidelines after each 0'fer series of downs.

Cheers,
Robin

Didn't watch last night's game, but TO is actually having a pretty good season.  He is 3rd in receptions and 4th in TD's.  Not sure how much better he could do...

Ochocinco is struggling and all his stats are way down.

I am not a fan of TO and have never been a fan. It's hard to say that he is not having an all pro season.  He was one of the lone bright spots last night for the Bungles. I thought he was washed up but I could not have been more wrong.  This season TO has found the fountain of youth. That playbon the last drive when he took a viscious hit by Troy P was impressive. Not many guys have the guts to make that play.  I guess redemption is possible.

Ocho is a different story. That guy is a total punk and a cancer on par with Randy Moss.

After the game ended last night I continued to watch the ESPN Hosts conduct the show wrap-up.  I have to agree with Steve Young's assessment of the Steelers:  Good team but not a great team at this point in the season.

My intention is not to come across as a spoiled fan as I know it is really nice to be 6-2 at the half-way point in the system.  However, I am disappointed at the Steeler's inability to get the hot read passing game going.  I don't know if it is Ben, the coaches or a combination of both.  The Steelers are going to continue seeing jail house blitz's until they can demonstrate the ability to get rid of the ball quickly.  Next Sunday night might not be pretty!

Well, Ken, your conference rival is up Thursday night and against a good team.  Should be interesting.  You may be pullin for the Falcons like me.  Don't know who the Pokes are playin as I type this weekend.  Hard to care for me at this point.  You see Palomalo's interview on ESPN?  He's a hard man not to like, not to mention admire.

The televised night games have generally been pretty sad this year, but this one looks like a good one. It's about time they give us a break from the east coast teams and north teams with crappy records...and old QB's.

I haven't seen Atlanta yet this year. It appears they are doing pretty good. I thought that they would make some noise last year but it never materialized.

Okay, I thought I was a football genius for a brief period...until reality set in. Very lucky picks this week in my confidence pool.  I usually pick based on emotion (pick against teams that have players I hate like Cincy and Minnesotta, etc.).  As a result, I usually don't do well in confidence pools where emotion-based picks usually work against me.

This could be one of my best weeks ever, which is rare.  My picks (in this week's confidence pool) included the following winners (or winners that will happen later tonight):

Bears over Vikings (I always pick the Bears so this one was pure luck.  Plus I hate the Vikings)
Cowboys over Giants (new coach, plus I'm not sold on the Giants.  Game is still going on but I like the Cowboys.  They still suck but will win on emotion)
Atlanta over Baltimore (coin flip, and I liked Atlanta)
Colts over Cincy (not bragging about this one, they are much better and barely won)
New England over Pittsburgh (game is on later tonight but I'm confident NE will come back and play strong in the Burgh)
Miami over Tennessee (I hate Randy Moss and wanted to root against him in first game, good pick!)
Denver over KC (I only put three points on this one but KC lost to the Raiders so they must suck)
Tampa over Carolina

St. Louis over San Francisco (Tied but I'm still hopeful Rams will pull it out)
Philly over Washington (in a rout, on Monday night)

Okay, this is why I'm am not a pro at this.  I was SOOOO sure of these picks which wound up being losers.

Losing picks so far:
Detroit over Buffalo (fourth quarter bad luck.  damn it!)
Cleveland over Jets (I was so sure about this one)
Houston over Jacksonville (foiled on last second hail Mary play!)
Arizona over Seattle (too hard to pick a winner when both teams are losers)

I was pulling for the Cinderella Browns to win over the Jets which did not happen.  I'm getting more impressed with Sanchez.  All the pundits said the Cowboys would play a better game but I just wasn't sure myself.  Well, this is Kitka's third time out and he's improving a bunch and the players had BEST play as well as they can cause JJ will give em their walking papers, I do believe.  They must, also.  VERY happy for Miami.  And Atlanta.  The Vikings are toast, sorry.

I was also really pulling for the Browns. They were so close...  At least cleveland has a good young team and should be tough next year.  Don't be sorry abt the Vikings.  They suck and are in complete disarray. This was Jay Cutler's best game. Not statistically but he played very well, except for the one bad pick.

Lastly, I didn't hear or see any experts picking Dallas to win today. The game hasn't ended but they are holding strong and outplaying the giants. I am not sold on the Giants.

Speaking of defense, another very solid outing from the Giants.   :thumb:

While we all know that Seattle isn't exactly part of the NFL elite, it was still very gratifying to see the Giants absolutely dominate an inferior opponent vs. letting them stay in the game.

Speaking of inferior opponent...bring on the Cowboys!

Always be careful what you ask for!
The Giants are solid as per usual, but Dallas is still talented, and they have been badmouthed all week by anyone with a microphone or a column.  I think they found a little motivation.

That was quite a display by the Pokes away with a team that some are saying is the best in the NFC.  Loved it!  Gimme some more of that!

The Steelers came out and looked flat against an impressive, inspired Patriots Team last night.  I not about to make excuses.  My hat is off to the Pats and congratulations to their fans!

I hope last night is not a sign that the Steelers have reverted back to the team they were late last year!

OUCH!!!  The Cowgirls turned the G-Men into g-boys yesterday.

While the Giants really did everything possible to lose (lots of stupid penalties that killed drives or took points off the board), the Cowboys did play with a confidence and aggressiveness that had been missing all season.

Yesterday, the better team won - period.

Hopefully the Giants will use this as a learning experience and be better for it down the road.

My prediction (see previous post which was made prior to kickoff) was correct.  There was no way the fired up Pats were going to lose that game last night.  The Steelers looked flat but they are still in the hunt.  Heck, the Pats lost to the Browns last week so anything is possible!  Frankly, the Pats are a better team than the Steelers at the moment but that could change in a couple weeks.

I wouldn't give up on the Steelers (stillers!) based on last night's performance but I'm not sold on any team.  This year is strange.  There are NO dominant teams, every team has some major weaknesses and I guess this is what the league wanted.

Lastly, did anyone enjoy seeing the Bears sticking it to Favre and Co (Viqueens) yesterday as much as I did? The Bears did to the Vikings what ol' Brett wanted to do to that female reporter (at least according to those saucy sext messages...).   :thumb:  This season just got a whole lot more interesting.

Cheers,

J

How about those Jets? They found a way to win ... again.
