What's a Good Jitter Spec?
«

Very few CDP manufacturers seem to post jitter stats for their players, although I see that Cambridge audio has done so for its 540C and 640C Azur CD players - 260 pS for both (
http://www.cambridge-audio.co.uk/noflash/azurseries.html
)
Can anybody comment on whether these are good jitter specs and what range of jitter one might find in CD Players (say very good to very bad)?
Many thanks to all the fine fellows who educate the rest of us by responding to the questions in this circle.

Good questions, which I can't answer properly
Jitter (of which there is more than one variety) has a defined acceptable level in the Redbook CD specs, but I can't remember offhand what it is - 300pS? 600pS? Sorry - can't help more.
