Danny,

Since you're working on the cabinet plans, do you think an X-LS Encore driver/tweeter with pre-built XO can be used in a sealed cabinet designed similar to the A/V-1RS?

Any LS9 bases that are the floating design?

Sure and please forgive me for not being able to send pics and more info but my Macbook decided to "react" against an upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard and today completes 3 days at the service center trying to recover ALL my Entourage mail database.
I hope to receive it later today so I can start working with Danny on this idea.
In addition to the complete loudspeakers we have empty cabinets, LS6 bases unfinished, etc..
I leave tomorrow for a business trip but I'll take my laptop with me.
Have a nice weekend!! :)

The container has arrived in port but is on X-ray Customs Exam hold by US Customs.  :icon_frown:

You can say that again. :)

I have a full container from SAC and it's been sitting at the dock in China for almost a month due to some technical reasons. :(

Let's hope Customs releases the container quickly - funds to Santi and drivers in our hands!

Encore boxes built and waiting for drivers :)

I'm not a big fan of the X bases on the LS6 either. I think that I might add some crown moulding to the top, and do a similar treatment on the bottom.

I also was thinking, maybe the base should be higher. It seems like some of the reason people like the LS9's more, is that tall people don't get the full effect when standing. It's not a problem for me, but with the speakers starting below my knees, why not raise them a little just for the pleasure of my taller guests?

Any thoughts?

Thanks for asking :) . All the bases we have here (photos to be uploaded tomorrow, promise!!) are of the "X" type.

Here are the actual photos related to the speakers we'd be shipping to Dannys.
They are in no particular order, they are just to give you an idea of their condition.
Pricing will be for Danny to post according to his evaluation. I guess that this is an unique opportunity. :)
To make thins easier, this is the post from a few days ago:

Hello, this is the info about what we have around here and their condition:
I'll use the following "conventions" about their condition regarding the base and grill availability.
Almost all of them are "A" type but we will be offering them through Danny as "B" type. The defects in some of them are really minor. Anyways our idea is for Danny to inspect them upon their arrival to make sure that our info is correct.

I've been moving containers from China to the US through Long Beach for the last 4 years, about 6 a month.  Only once have we had one pulled for X-Ray inspection, the logistics folks claim we're lucky only having one pulled.  You get the privilege of paying for the haul from the port to the Customs yard, maybe some admin and a few days of delay.  If they're not happy then you have the additional costs of having them go in and pull the contents apart.. :?  Hope all goes OK Danny.

Danny,

Sorry if I missed this, but are you taking orders/dibs on these or the AV123 parts. I'm thinking no, but I might be wrong...never saw an official answer to this.

Thanks!

I have a 40 foot container load of parts that are in the port already and I will be selling these as soon as they are here. Prices are in the first post of this thread.

The remaining finished speakers need new homes and Santiago and I will work something out to get them here and make them available. Clearly there is some interest.

I won't be selling or taking orders on anything until I have it here to ship.

Have to keep an eye on this - a pair of x-ls encores would be nice...... :thumb:

Just saw all the pricing, that is some stupid good pricing, especially on the later models: X-Statik, X-Voce and X-Omni. All VERY good speakers and make a truly enveloping system for surround. There are going to be a lot of new happy owners because of this and hopefully benefit Santi and his crew down south as well  :banana piano:

I worked again on them this weekend, and completed the X-LS Classic and X-LS Encore drawing updates.

Do you still have any of the XL-s' left?  I'd love to buy a pair if you do...

Thanks!

skeeter, you do realize that the pricing on the first page is the kit pricing, right?
