Van Alstine Transendence 400 SOLD

Here is a Van Alstine Trancendence 400 power amp. See the photos for the cosmetic condition. One small ding on the lower edge of the face keeps this from an 8/10. Massive power at 200 real watts per channel into 8 ohms. This was used as the bass amp for a pair of Infinity RS-Is. The fan is quiet ( not silent, but close) and the amp operates at 100%. The map runs warm but the fan keeps everything cool to the touch. I will answer any pertinent questions.

Price is $300.00 plus actual shipping costs.  Located in the Atlanta area.

This is a used power amplifier and carries NO warranty of any kind. It will not arrive DOA because it works.

Local pick up is OK. If you are local I will even bring it to you.

The amp will weigh in at 54 lbs boxed. The amp will be double boxed for safety.

Paypal users will pay the 2.9% fees they charge me. I much prefer MO or checks ( after they clear).

Bump.  Please someone, buy this amp before it becomes a boat anchor or worse yet, gets relegated to Home Theater uses.

This actually is a darn good amplifier and in our experience is very very durable.  Its quite "tube-like" sounding.

It was a complex and expensive design, (look at all those transistors) but everything was run very conservatively and it has a big nearly unbreakable Hitachi power mos-fet output stage (no remaining Dyna parts in it at all past the power transformer).

I sure would be willing to pay $300 for it in good working order (if I did not already have low cost access to our much more recent designs).   :)

Serviceability? Doubtful.  The designer who did this for us left over 20 years ago and took all the design data and PC card layout and schematic info with him and they have been so reliable that we have had none back to service since then so we have no troubleshooting info to go on when and if one breaks.

Regards,

Frank Van Alstine
