Yeah, it works like this.
If a company sends me three different capacitors that are all the same value, but all made a little differently, and ask for me to listen to them. I have no expectations, not predisposed to think anything, and have an unbiased observation. They value that. That's plenty good for the companies doing the research.
However, for the nay sayers, you have to do a triple blind test, with the same weather conditions, with a panel of listeners that are carefully selected as average people, to get a high enough percentage of answers all in one direction to make sure there really is a difference. Then you have to publish the data for pier review to make sure it meets their standards, and then publish it in a publication to make it official... Good grief.
