FYI - I live about 1 hour north of Atlanta. MARTA rail service has a station right inside the airport and is a great way to get from the airport into the city. I use it all the time - whenever I fly or visit downtown. Hotel is only 2 blocks from the Peachtree Center Station (North/South line - $2 one trip or $8 unlimited all day - 20 minutes from airport to Peachtree Center Station). Does not run 24x7, though it does run well past midnight and starts up before 6 am. For MARTA details:

BTW, if driving in and your hotel charges an outrageous daily rate to park, you could park in a MARTA lot - some of them allow over night parking for approx. $8/day. For example, the North Springs Station:
