If there is a substitute for a truly large volume, correctly vented subwoofer enclosure, I am not aware of it.
OK, the Larger Subwoofer is a full 8 cubic feet. The VSS represents 7.5cu ft of trapped air. The VLA is 12 cu ft of the same. They take a little getting used to, visually.
While we now offer compact (3 cu ft) cubes for the Dedicated and 215 subs, if you can fit the big boxes, you will be amply rewarded.
All subs are designed for music reproduction. It you plan to reproduce mostly explosions or subsonics, go for the TC upgrades. We're making the VLA standard with four TC 12" for $5900ea (stock finishes) including 1000W rackmount amp/EQ/electronic xover. I don't think anyone can do better, but I'm sure I'll hear about it on this very message board if they do.
