I finally got a weekend off and got to listen to the rig. I think I've got it dialed in fairly close just using Rega's suppled protractor, the cheapo Shure VTF guage and installing the 2 mm shim for VTA.
I just love it. It just sounds 'right' somehow. And I have a good digital rig. But I haven't used it in days now. With the Mapleshade products and some fiddling w/ sub settings, I think I've got the low end feed back issue under control. I can't shake the walls like I do w/ my DVD concert vids, but I didn't expect to do so.
I am surprised at how little surface noise I have, and I don't even have a wet/vac record cleaner. (one on the way however!)
Thanks to all who have helped me in my quest and put up w/ my rambling post. I'm sure there will be more down the road.
At some point, when I replenish my audio 'slush fund', I'll probably get that Riggle VTA device and maybe one of those Mitchell counterweights, but for now all is good.
again, everyone here has been very helpful, I 'preciate it, as they down here in the south.
