That beauty reeks of quality, looks very well made. I'll bet it sound great.

Have been able to play it quite a bit tonight.  It not only sounds great, but plays great!  Amazing balance and action.  The finish and the rest of the build is simply flawless.

I'm one happy camper!!! :D

Paul, F this hobby. It's a money pit and you will never ever be 100% happy with your system (and if you think you are you're kidding yourself) IMO it's best to play with audio every so often. Make some drastic changes and then just sit on it for a year or so. Making music is wonderful, I used to do it myself, but I have too many hobbies and something had to give.  :duh:

Any way, what was I saying? Oh yeah, audiophilia is a disease the only cure is fire and lots of it.

Stunning!  Use it well and congrats.

How does it feel and sound?

pjchappy

Feels and plays great!

With Carvin, I could have got a bare, tung-oiled neck (back).  That is what most people recommend.  Mine is finished in satin black.  I have no regrets.  It is sooooo smooth!

My current talent level will not allow me to unleash its full potential, however.  Regardless, right now (other than this break to type :P) I am recording the bass line for my first re-recording.  I have a 4-day weekend, so I plan (. . .well, hope) to get a lot of stuff recorded. :hyper:

I'm the opposite of you - I wish I could get motivated to play music but I spend lots of time listening to music.  (Not that I have any instruments lying around for me to play....)

Hey, anyone can spend money to buy audio equipment. (Don't get me wrong, I love this hobby too!) But if you feel a need to create music - you have to go with it. There may be a time when you WON'T be motivated to play - then they'll be plenty of time for you then.

Rock on! :guitar:   (Or jazz on, blues on, etc...)

Well, maybe let the music you listen to be your inspiration for your own stuff.  When I'm in recording/mixing mode, I completely listen to songs differently, in that I get ideas for how to fit things together.  I'm still very much an amateur, however. . .but I thoroughly enjoy it.

I really want to work with others on my music.  If I still lived in St. Louis, that wouldn't be too much of an issue.  Instead, I'm doing everything myself (guitars, bass, drums, keys, and vocals. . .).  It has been a teeter-totter of fun and interest vs. pure frustration and tons of self-doubt.  Have had to learn keys (happy about that. . . but still a big beginner). . .and drums (a total novice. . .).

Nevertheless, hoping to have my first re-do (in this case, a bit of re-re-do) finished in a week or two.  However, I've been somewhat unhappy and have had lots of self-doubt.  This current re-do is finally starting to take shape, with a big thanks to my new bass, as it has provided tons of motivation.

This has been by far the longest I have gone without 'releasing' anything.  This time around, I want to make things as tight as I can, with the current capabilities that I have.  I am no longer going to throw things together in a day or two with the goal of interesting a friend or two in working on my music with me.  I am also only really working on fitting my previous songs into a bit of a concept album.  New songs have taken a back seat. . .but new ideas for my old songs have been incorporated (in my head) into this 'album.'

Wish me luck. . . :banghead:

Yeah well, if you keep beating your head against the wall :banghead: - you'll need it! (Unless of course, you're going to get into headbanging music!)

Anyway, you're beating yourself up unnecessarily with all that self-doubt. What's there to doubt? Your musicianship is very good, you love making music (It's quite good - don't know why it reminds me of early Pink Floyd. I really like your song Blue Eyes) and you want to keep improving - you don't need anything else.

(Btw, I'm available for hire as a Life Coach!  )
