I believe that in my situation, I must look at multiples. For example, my Corolla with over 410,000 Km is probably worth around $500.00. So to compare this to my Beasties alone, they represent approximately 38 times of my Corolla's value (give or take).

Be well...

Modwright KWI 200 (waiting, patiently waiting - October isn't far away  :D) and Usher BE-10's.  WAF factor is high on big Ushers only because she figures I can't lift them in order to make way for any more speakers.  She's right!!

Here during past 30 days:

Rega P9/RB1000/Apheta

Coming on Monday:

BDP1 and BDA1, Atlas digital cable (dunno which model though)

There is no more space in my rack so whether I have to buy another rack or buy ampstands for 7B`s to make space in the existing rack.
Yes my sytem is worth multiple value of my car but I`m happy!  :D

Monday should be a great day! Wait till you hear the BDP1-BDA1 combo. You will be thrilled. I am still trying to get back to my vinyl for about 4 months ever since I got the BDP-BDA.     Nice vinyl setup you have there!

My latest acquisitions are:

1) Bryston B60 integrated amp (used)
2) Paradigm Studio 10 v. 5 speakers (new)

Not too bad for ~$1250 out of pocket.  They will be in my office system; a Marantz CD player will be my source.  I might get an outboard DAC eventually, but time will tell.

Cheers,

John

Hi Anonamemouse, that is a VERY nice tweet you got there and absolutely agree with your take on its performance. Good choice  :thumb:

James, if you are still looking for the ultimate tweeter for a normal price, this is it.
Amazing clarity and brilliance.

I first changed one loudspeaker, then listened for a while to a monofied recording, the difference was stunning... A curtain was removed. I actually tested this by hanging a curtain over the new tweeter, and then it sounded the same...

Thank you!
It's in my loudspeakers for a week now, and I feel it is playing in nicely. The stereo image keeps getting wider, the highs more defined. I am very pleased with it!

A Bolder Cable modded EE minimax DAC!  My Bryston amp never sounded sweeter! (BigRedMachine made power cord, Revelation Audio "Prophecy" & "Paradise" IC's)

Gotta love those Seas drivers/tweeters!

Laundrew succumbed to his weakness for vintage machinery and purchased an early 1950s Van Norman # 12, compound milling machine. Laundrew had searched for quite some time for one of these machines and considered himself extremely fortunate to find one in great condition - albeit, the red paint job must eventually go. Van Norman # 12 bids a fond adieu to all of his happy little airplane friends.

Laundrew arranges for machinery movers, always let the professionals move precious cargo.

Van Norman # 12, hmmm... I will now call him Norman. Norman is secured, blanketed and placed under a protective tarpaulin and ready to take the first step on his new journey.

Laundrew momentarily bonds with Norman... Laundrew also tells Norman that he will enjoy his new, more interesting friends over the happy little airplanes that he once knew.

Norman meets a new friend and immediately thinks that life is going to be very interesting.

Norman smiles and he is very happy...

Be well...

"Stuff like that doesn't come cheap"

Laundrew has gotten me interested in old lathes and milling machines, esp. a Monarch 10EE.  In the US, esp. the upper Mid-West (rust belt) this type of machinery is "cheap).   However, I haven't gotten up the courage to find out the shipping costs.

So Laundrew, what's it going to take for you to reveal yourself? Your pictures are always strategically taken to hide "the man behind the curtain." I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one intrigued..............

Impressive machinery but yes, I'd agree that shipping alone would break the bank for most - not that it's anyone's business where you get your money from - but it's evident that you are one with means at his disposal.  Congrats...and enjoy!
