Judging by the color I could have sworn it was some Mac accessory....

...yep! it looks similar.
one great feature of this soundcard is that it can be used with balanced or unbalanced analog connectors (I/O). other features are S/PDIF input clock detection, auto sync and individual real time monitoring (analog & digital input), I/O coax 192KHz/24bit, optical output 96KHz/24bit and 16 channel I/O MIDI. the ESI Juli@ was 125 Euros.

That is the sound card that is modified by Bryston and used in the BDP-1.   :thumb:

...yes, i know. there must be a reason why Bryston took the Juli@! all i can say is that the first sound impression is very good and it clearly beats my current card which is an Auzentech X-fi Hometheater. the Auzentech is great for surround but the ESI Juli@ does the stereo job simply better.

Received my upgraded BP25 preamp back from Bryston.  With the upgrade to BP26 status it now matches perfectly with the MPS2 and BDA1 on the same shelf.  Thank you to Bryston for also changing the switches on the front from black to silver!

Best,

John

Orb Audio Mod1 Plus for my downstairs video set up + the Uber 10 sub.  Great sound from small speakers, exactly what I was looking for.

This baby is on order. I can't wait until it arrives.

A SOVEREIGN DIRECTOR Signature Series.

Alas no link, mainly because they do not have a website...

It arrived.
It is frightening.
It brings out the best of my 4B SST2, and then some a whole f*cking lot more.

I picked up the items below this month and what difference they have made in my
system!  My speakers are Klipsch KLF-30's (reinf cabinets/DeanG cross-overs) M&K mx-5000thx mkII & B&W ASW-855.  The rest of my system contains Rotel 1068, Rotel 1080, Rotel 3600 turn table, & Denon 3910.

Just got an OPPO BDP-95.  I have not had much time to play with it yet but the video is an obvious upgrade over my Sony BDP-S300 Blu Ray player.  For audio I have the OPPO's balanced stereo outputs going into the BP-26 and the audio sounds great also.  I am getting a big soundstage from the down mixed stereo inputs.

As mentioned, it is here, and found a place in my system a few weeks ago.

I have had the BP 26 here for 2 weeks, borrowed from a friend who went on vacation. This was in december last year, so my memory is not exactly 100 % fresh on it. And unlike some, I do not have a perfect auditive memory (which is 100% impossible, nobody remembers super-specifics for more than a few minutes, and certainly when it comes to audio. Humans are simply not wired for that).

But...

The Sovereign Director DEFINITELY is in a COMPLETELY different ballpark than the BP 26. It is much more detailed, gives much better staging, there is more of everything, everything just falls in the right place. I do not want to use vague terms to describe the difference, but "musical to the maximum" fits. The difference is not just "noticable", it really is MILES apart.

The BP 26 is a good pre amp. There is no doubt about that. But the Sovereign Director pushed my 4B SST2 to a place where the BP 26 simply will not come. It made me realize what an amazing power amp the 4B SST2 actually is.

Sorry James... Just keep in mind that the Sovereign is about 5 times as expensive...
Thomas Hoehne (owner of Sovereign, I picked the amp up at his home) DOES think of Bryston as a very worthy competitor.

Just got an Oppo BDP-95 audiophile blu-ray player. Worth every penny. Does everything I need, and has a kick ass dedicated 32bit two channel DAC with balanced outputs. Puts my USB streamer to shame. I highly recommend this piece

Now that's one Hell of a turntable! Congrats, and I'm sure you'll have a lot of happy hours listening to it!

How is the Clearaudio arm compared to the Graham?
