You have chosen wisely, grasshopper. Any of the Meitner/EMM Labs stuff I've heard has been very cool. What did the Meitner DAC replace?

It replaced a BDA-1 which has gone to the den to be with the BHA-1. I'm looking forward to giving DSD a whirl.

Very nice Samura, awesome...just curious, given the overwhelming press and extreme doting, why not Bryston loudspeakers?

I auditioned several speakers before my purchase, including the Bryston Middle T speakers, and for me, I really liked the ProAc sound and bass response.  ProAc speakers can go extremely deep and the whole concept behind the downward firing port which "hits" the speaker plinth and exhausts from the sides makes total sense to me since no matter what floors you have (i.e. hardwood vs. carpeting) you always have the same distance for the port, hence I would assume more consistency in the bass.  Also, such an arrangement makes speaker placement easier has I have experienced with a friend's ProAc Response D28.  Last, the detail I heard from the ProAc ribbon tweeter, I did not hear from other dome tweeter designs and ProAc has managed to really get the formula right when it comes to integrating the ribbon tweeter (not always easy).

Regarding the plinth design, I so agree.  Makes placement that much easier.  And, the aesthetic;  most pleasing. Although I'm not a huge fan of ribbon tweeters (expense and integration) it sounds like ProAc has done it right.  Most tower designs have multi drivers.   I've been a long-time monitor guy for it's simplicity...meaning not so complicated xover issues.  Frequency roll off to me makes so much sense on a two-way config.   I would love to hear these.  "Enjoy the Music."

Just  inquired about the MSRP on a BDP-2 from one of my audio dealers.
I will say with the BR-2 remote I got quite a substantial savings,so on that note,
a black 19"BDP-2 with blue leds will be at my door in about 3 weeks :thumb:.
Thought maybe  just the GST,quite a bit more off than that, couldn't resist KA CHING.

Hi
I also have ProAc speakers but only the model D18 and I'm totally happy with them.
They bring me smile when I listen to music. And my little 2B SST do a very nice job with them.
Enjoy.

Anybody with Bryston amps should seriousily consider amps stands from Solid tech. Real improvement compared to floor or generitic shelves. pic is a little bland.

That setup looks like some kind of futuristic robot alien with the two green LEDs as the eyes and the stand is the legs.

The BDP and BDA on the shelf look very tasty, werd. What else is on the rack? The SolidTech stand is most impressive. Congratulations, and best wishes for enjoyable listening.

BTW, I've done steel shot with our LR/RR speaker stands. Very good move to wait until you determine the permanent position.

Since waiting for my BDP-2,was have troubles with the BCD-1.
figured I'd wait till the -2 arrived then I'd take the -1 in for service.
That day has arrived, while driving from the country to the city(3hr round trip),I was trying to figure out how to sneak it in the house to the off limits man cave.
Got the BDP-2 home, could see my imported China Doll in the window(THE WIFE FACTOR)(what to do),had to act quick,so since I had the work van I had a few cans of paint in the back so I loaded up the -2 under my arm with a couple of gallons of paint in my hand and another in my left hand and rushed to the  garage(STRESSSS).
No sooner I put the -2 in the garage and quietly closed the door, still with paint cans in hand I heard a voice from around the corner :o(yikes),,put the paint cans down on the walkway, stood up....OH hellooo I said, she says what you doing,I said, nothin.......just unloading some paint from the van as we have too much in there, better to put it in the doghouse(room off the garage)my outside winter SMKin room.
Just made it by the skin of my teeth :thumb:,,trouble is,it will be in the garage until I can figure out how to get it in the house.
I am up 530 or so and she's still sleepin,so maybe, just maybe I can get her in tomorrow in the wee hrs.
                                                                   That was my latest

Should add,the -2 is 19",black with blue leds,
come to think of it,surprised I'm not blacknblue from the wifes wok :duh:.

Laundrew is enjoying a quiet evening at home when suddenly, Lady Laundrew walks up to him and casually mentions that she was just talking with Vince on the telephone and that he has a 1/4 scale Avengers Hulk Maquette at the store. An eyebrow is slowly raised as Laundrew has been patiently waiting for an opportunity to view this amazing piece - it also commands great presence as this Hulk stands almost 26 inches tall. A quick trip to Vince's store ensues and once again, Laundrew demonstrates his most acute weakness and walks out of the store with his new Hulk  :thumb:
