I really don't stress about it anymore...some people can be foolish so to speak. That's their bag. I personally don't see how the linearity of Bryston can be bettered. To each is own. I'm very content with all Bryston amp and preamp, and that's all that matters to me. I don't follow the herd of tubeophiles and those seeking a "warm" sound. I want full detail. And Bryston gives me that, imo.

I always look forward to reading what is new with our Bryston members in the " What is your latest acquisition?" thread. Although we share a common interest with respect to our Bryston gear, you must also admit that we are quite an eclectic group of characters. When all is said and done at the end of the day, I believe that it is most awesome to see individuals acquire what corporeal and perhaps at times, "non-corporeal" treasures that pleases them.

What did they say about variety ?

Agreed......I'm happy with Brystons sound and I am pleased to see others happy with something other than Bryston.
We all love music....how we go about that is best described with this........

Been thru DD15's,JL F-113's couldn't get the sound that I've heard before, now I have it in Spades.
Everything has opened up,kickdrum is  to die for.I get it all even at low vol.
Downside:HEAVY,pricey.
Up:best lowend I have everheard(whether a bigroom or small).
My dealer gave me a LIFETIME WARRANTY :thumb:.

Once again Laundrew, thank you for shining a light.

Allow me to offer yet another outrage: Shipped from beautiful downtown Chino, California U.S.A. this afternoon -

Manley Neo-Classic 300B preamp (replacing my Manley Jumbo Shrimp).
Drummermitchell, looks like I'm as "foolish" as you!

DD,foolish no,willing to go where some don't dare venture.
I have read alot of good stuff about Manley.
If you never go outside, you'll never know what awaits you, especially with different pieces.
I'm sure I'll keep my 28's for power with the Torus(s).
Get's to pricey changing out gear,Quite satisfied now as my front end(preamps)I have two different views of musicality.Plus their both topnotch pre's:Bryston's 26 and the Vac Mk II.
Different flavors but both very satisfying,Congrats.

I agree!
The Bryston circle is the one most frequent posted on at Audiocircle. Not too bad I'd say.

I'll let you know - it's in transit now somewhere between here and California where they're hand-made to order. I really like my Jumbo Shrimp and it really sounds great with my Bryston gear but the Neo-Classic 300B is in a whole other ballpark compared to the Shrimp. Also, if you go on sites like Head-fi you will hear that this is also a mighty, mighty headphone amp as well. The three switches which you see on the top of the unit are headphone related - they allow you to dial up the unit for different headphone impedance levels, select between line preamp use vs. headphone and finally to bypass  ( when using as preamp ) or engage ( for use with headphones ) the transformer. They're not a really common unit ( you could count the number of preamps using 300B tubes on the fingers of one hand after having a lawnmower accident ) but they are pretty cool - I was speaking with Albert Schippitz, the national hi-fi sales manager with Manley and of all the various units the company makes, this is his favorite.

Very interesting, wonder if you will hear them and if they will distract you when listening specially on quiet passages. I bought a McIntosh 750 server pce and got rid of it shortly afterwards because the cooling fan would come on which was located on the back of the unit, I did not know for some time that this was the culprit when I was hearing something once and a while and had me

I wasn't even listening to it at the time, I was listening to my my vinyl and for me there's nothing worse when you are just getting drawn into the music and then something odd distracts you taking you out of the moment.

Ya my Vac Statement 450 mono blocks throw off a bit more heat than my Brystons did but it's amazing how cool the Vac pre runs, really you would not even know it's on which has has tubes, mine has a phono with 6 additional tubes.

Keep us updated once you have them in place

Still going through the break-in period with the ARC LS-27; however, I can say that it sounds great between my BDP-1/BDA-1 and 7BSST2s.
