My latest acquisition is the Bryston 10B Sub with balanced connectors.  I've had it installed in my two channel tube system for a just over 3 weeks now.  I could not be happier with its performance.

Just got one and so far I am impressed with the audio quality - even for 16bit 44kHz music. 24bit music is amazing

Just placed an order for a Torus CS 16 INT'L AVR GER silver unit yesterday, and of course, while my wife is still abroad.   :green:

Yes, I have it installed connected to my 3B ST. I'm not sure how to describe the sound. It's definitely an improvement on the 470 v4, with a tonality to it that is rich and accurate and blends well with my Studio 100's. It really throws out the vibes and its not fully broken in yet. Like other quality speakers the sound doesn't seem to be coming from the speaker, which is important because I sit fairly close. To complete the imaging illusion though it's best to listen with the lights out.

I may switch amps to the 3B SST, but at present am very pleased with the superb sound paired with the 3B ST.

The back of the speaker is contoured with 2 port holes, has bi-wire connections, weighs 39 lbs.

I wish my speakers would do that. I probably need to re-position them.

I just got the new B&W 800 Diamonds. These speakers are a dramatic improvement over my previous 802D. These will be in my home for a long long time.I have a sony 5400 sacd player, bryston bp26, bryston4b sst and torus driving them. The sound is spectacular( which I couldn't say about the previous 802D). One of the  main reasons I  went with the 800 diamond is the dealer offered me full trade in for my 802D. I really didn't expect such a dramatic improvement but am happy there is.Incidently, the bryston 4b sst has absolutely no trouble driving them to head banging levels...

Wow, so the 4BSST does the job on those. Which makes it an incredible value even at current prices for a new one.

The 4b sst drives the B&W 800 diamonds with ease. These are easier to drive than my previous pair of 802D but a pair of 7b sst2 would be nice( maybe next year ) but not neccesary.

Awesome. I don't have to upgrade my amp if I get new (and more costly) speakers. That sounds very good.

(1) A 10-ft. biwired pair of the new Bryston SC4 speaker cables and (2) a used Ayre P-5xe phono preamplifier. Plus, in a fit of audio dementia, I ordered (3) a pair of Barefoot Sound MicroMain 27s, but the waiting list on those is at least three months.

Thinking about a high-powered amplifier, but, although I enjoy three BP-26s, a BDA-1, a BCD-1 and a 10B, Bryston amps have always sounded "thin" in my systems (various high sensitivity professional studio monitors).

Now, if I could get a customized  electronic( equalized for the 800 diamonds) crossover from Bryston these speakers would be absolutely outrageous....I wonder what that would cost?

Judging by my latest electricity bill here in Ontario - my lastest accusition must surely be the Ontario Power Stream building

Oh well, at least someone is very happy...

And then someone told him she has to light her home with candles...

After the poor woman left (to find some firewood to heat her home), he decided if people could afford to purchase wax candles, a further 40-50 percent increase in electricity rates was required. He was happy once more...

Be well...
