Will my Nuforce Ia-7 v3 a good match for Magnepan 1.6?

Will the sound be overly light weight?

Yes. I'm having IA-7V3 running the Magneplanar 1.6. I'm still running in the V3 amp as the amp is only upgraded recently. With V3, it seems that the power is less than V2 before it was upgraded.

But I'm not sure and perhaps I can tell you more in a month's time.

V3 has less gain (not less power) than V2 so you need to increase the preamp volume.

i brought my ia-7 v3 to a friend's home to try on his new Magnepan 1.7.

All the people there were delighted and amazed by the sound quality and control the little integrated has on the 4ohm Magnepan 1.7.

I did bring the ia-7 v2 to the same place when he was still using his well run-in 1.6. He was not too impressed that time.

He really listens to music LOUDDD! and he wanted to check if the amp has the clip protection, so he put on a a deep drum/bass guita cd and...yes...the amp was shut down after about 1 min of struggling, but it was real loud, close to Neighbour-complains decibel.

Mass violins are silky and sublime. I have never heard this kind of sensation from maggie before.
