I haven't heard Paradigm in a long time, so I need a refresher course. What's the difference between Reference and Signature?

Signature is beefier and more refined.

A truly awesome speaker for around the $6k mark. I was very impressed with these speakers and at the time they were driven by a 14B SST, a Krell pre-amplifier and Krell CD player. The 14 was not a SST² unit and it was clipping a little bit while driving these speakers.

Paradigm Signature S8

Actually what Laundrew posted is a V.1 or V.2 pic.

V.3 (current) has beryllium tweeters.

Robert D here has them and could tell you how he likes them.

I'd say that if you want some serious slam this is the way to go. If you're not interested in that then you could go for the similarly priced PMCs or Dynaudios.

Admittedly that is a rather stout speaker and probably a very fun listen!

Very. My local dealer teases me every time I go there by playing them. At some point I'll probably cave in and upgrade.

Some info for Vegas Dave:

You can consider these:

- Studio 100 @ $3000
- Signature 6 @ $6000
- Signature 8 @ $9000

The Sig 6 is pretty much similar in sound to the Studio with the added benefit of beryllium tweeters (and although they have one less bass driver, the slam is about the same). The Sig 8 is a good step forward.

Yes, the Studio and Signature lines are made in Canada, drivers included (Paradigm makes their own).
