I'd give Gary Dodd a call and ask him about some of his other amps that are not tube amps.

 Thanks Danny. I had no idea that he did any SS at all. There are so many choices available and I want to make this a long term purchase. I'll email Gary and see if he has any suggestions.

 I had a chance to buy a demo set of Virtue iceblocks so I pulled the trigger and they are on their way to me. They are the amps reviewed in Affordable Audio. The tube buffer was what convinced me to give these a try. We'll see how they sound on the 7's. They are certainly pretty and powerful.

I heard these at Lone Star Audio Fest hooked up to a pair of N3's and they sounded incredable. The bass being put out by these speakers powered by the Ice blocks was unbelievable. I think you are in for a real treat.
