The end of an era- R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio

I just read that the
wife of
Ronnie James Dio has confirmed his death from cancer at the age of 67. Dio was legendary in metal circles both for his work with
Black Sabbath
as well as his many solo albums. He was definitely a "founding father" of what would become heavy metal throughout the 70's and 80's and was very popular right up til the present day. R.I.P., RJD- you will be missed by many of us metalheads.

Well I guess that explains why he didn't look all that healthy in his
Tenacious D
cameo. Ronnie was a true rocker, right to the end.
Cheers,
Robin

I'm sure Ronnie will make sure all those angels will now how their harps plugged into Marshall stacks turned to 11!
I saw some documentary awhile back about metal and he was a really interesting guy.
Yep, a legend for sure. Rock In Peace brother.

My GF bought me the ""Holy Diver" DVD for my b-day, unsolicited (good girl)!
The sound quality is very good, the performance enjoyable. You will be missed, Ronnie!

What a great rocker
I first found RJD back in the 70s when he started his rock and roll life as Ronald Padovana singing with the band Elf.
He was one of the great R&R voices that has ever been. He will be missed.

What a loss.
I can't begin to imagine how many hours I have listened to him rock.
A tribute listen is in order.
RIP to one of the greatest rock vocalists ever.

Sad news. He was a gentleman and a great singer. Man on the Silver Mountain blasting out as I write......no reunion with Ritchie this side of heaven now....Rest in Peace Ronnie.

Although I no longer listen to metal, RJD was a great voice and one that I went to see in concert (back when I was still into metal). He was a fantastic performer with a great stage presence.
