Nice Tubes For Sale--More Tubes Added
« on: 16 May 2010, 02:53 pm »
I've decided to sell more of my tubes so that I can of course fund other audio purchases  :D.  The prices below include paypal fees and fedex ground shipping (sorry CONUS only).

--Matched quad Black Treasure 6CA7's, Grade A from Grant Fidelity.  Estimate around 750 hours.  My favorite (well, tied with NOS Tung Sol blackplate 6550's) pwr tube for the Cary SLI-80 amp.  I've sold the Cary, and my current amp used a pair of these as drivers, but I don't need to hang on to 4 spares.  $235. SOLD, thanks Mark.

--Matched pair of GEC A2900's (12AT7 family).  Purchased NOS from respected Audiogon seller.  The hype is real, these babies have a soundstage like nothing else I've tried.  Incredible bass & warmth, smooth, without giving up the high end.  Go for $300+ (when they can be found) on notable sellers' sites.  I will regret letting these go, but you guys know how it is when you want to buy other new audio toys!  $175.  SOLD, thanks Tony!

--single GEC A2900.  Buyer tested the pair and 1 tube tested poorly, so I've refunded his $ and he has returned the tubes.  This is the single tube, which per his results on a B&K tester, tested over 100 for each section with no shorts or leaks.  $85.  The other tube that tests poorly is of course also available--I've played the pair again in my amp with no noticeable issues, but both sections of this tube tested lower than 55, so I wouldn't call it a good tube.

--6 Amperex pinched waist 7062's (also 12AT7 family--my setup needs tad bit more gain).  Tested & purchased from respected fellow AC member.  $75 total for the 6 tubes.  SOLD, thanks Jon!

--Matched pair Amperex long plate, foil strip D getters 12AX7's--hard to find and great sounding.  If you can find them, these easily go in the $200 range.  Sell for $140. SOLD

--Matched pair of Brimar "Yellow T"  6060 (12AT7)--Brimar's answer to the GEC A2900.  Bought from respected Audiogoner.  Estimate less than 250 hours use by me.  Very nice and great soundstage.  Sell for $150. (Available again!)

--Matched pair of Mullard 8162 (12AT7).  I really like this tube; to me its more refined and better in the frequency extremes than the standard Mullards of this family.  Purchased from respected Audiogoner; I've put less than 250 hours on these.  Sell for $75.

--Matched pair of Philips miniwatt Holland, pinched waist e180cc.  Sell for $75.

--2 Mullard 8137 tubes.  If you've looked, these can easily go for $250+ for a nice pair; hard to find.  These are not a matched pair; I purchased from two separate sellers; each said their tube tested 'good'.  I've now run these for around 40 hours in the pre section of my amp; no problems, no noise, no perceptions of any imbalance issues and of course great sounding.  I purchased these a backups (I have another pair of 8137's that I use), but have now purchased more primo 12AX7's tubes, so no longer concerned with having backups.  Will sell for $75 each, or $140 for both tubes.

--4 Raytheon blackplate 12AX7's (Baldwin label).  Great vintage sound & warmth.  All for for $80!

--pair Mullard GZ37 rectifier tubes, brown base.  Very nice; I used as rectifiers in my Cary SLI-80 amp (which I've sold, so no longer need these).  I used for approximately 500 hours.  Sell for $100.

--Amperex metal base GZ34.  Again purchased from respected AC member (only used back when waiting for my EML 5U4G mesh to be replaced in my MW Transporter).  Fabulous tube, no more than 100 hours.  $225.  SOLD, thanks Barry!

--Pair Chelmer U52 rectifiers.  Purchased from Paul Lindemen (respected Agon seller).  Brent Jessie describes as "These are rare British military U52 tubes known by their military type number CV1071. These are identical electrically to the 5U4G, fit the same socket (they have octal bases) and have a large ST shape coke bottle shape. They are built tough, with a heavy mica top spacer, spring tops to each filament support, and a support grid at the bottom. Powerful and sweet British tone, these NOS military tubes are extra rugged and very long lived. They will work where ever a 5U4G, 5U4GA, 5U4GB, 5AS4, 5Y3, or 5Z4 is called for. VERY scarce in the USA."  $75 for the pair.

--single Miniwatt Daria 7308.  One of my favorites of this family.  I clumsily dropped and broke its mate or I wouldn't be selling.  $45. SOLD Thanks Rich!

--Matched pair of Brimar CV1988/6SN7's.  Black glass, white lettering.  Purchased from Paul Lindeman.  Around 500 hours.  Very nice.  $135.  SOLD; thanks Luke!

Lots of feedback on the Agon (username Rrsclyde) and numerous transactions with fellow AC members.
