Before this topic get worse.
First of all I was pissed off because my SP2 went away for 3 month without notice me that I'm going to loose one of the import features of this product.
The least that they could do is notice me, because then I had a choice to do the repair or not.

To make something else clear, I never wanted my money back. The only thing I want is an solution for the problem that is created by repairing the SP2.
Still this SP2 is the best surround amplifier I have heard in this price range.
I think there 're better one's but they cost almost 3 times more then this SP2, like the Lexicon MC12.

I still like the offer James commes with, but I think that there must be a solution where we can both bennefit from. I mean it's not good for business if Bryston has to give me my money back and again that's also not what I want.

The Bryston importer has contact me this afternoon and they 're going to look if it's possible to get the light dimmed out. That is what I want so they 're going to try that. How? I don't know yet because they 're closed now.

The reason that I called my lawyer is that I wanted to know what my options 're in this.

I mean when I bring my car to my dealer because the electric rearviewmirrors don't work anymore and I get it back repaired with manual rearviewmirrows and the dealer say "this one last longer because there 're no electric parts in it", everybody would have said "you're right, you don't have to accept this". Now it's Bryston and I get people saying that not everybody in this country is like me. No that is because maybe Anonamemouse take's everything for granted, I don't.

And just as NAP was saying
Quote
"But it doesn't dim out which can be a real eye sore in a HT environment.... that's what he was complaining about.... not the brand of the display....
"

Last but not least I really like the service that is giving me by Bryston and the importer.

I am rather embarrassed that I am from the same country... I assure you, we're not all like that.

The Dutch are cool....

This thread has caused me to inspect my system in greater detail.  In doing so I discovered that my SACD player is 25 mm narrower and, get this, a different color than my BP26.  Do I sue Bryston or Esoteric . :?

Thanks Bill - you just ruined my day :thankyou:

Now I must live with my Esoteric CD player that is 25mm narrower than my BP26 - "hangs head, starts sobbing uncontrollably."

:bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

How about a class action Bill

I managed to type this without laughing - but I was smiling….

 :D

Post scriptum...

Money back offer - seriously, who else but Bryston would do this?

:thumb:

Be well...

Hi James

I think this is great that you would help and actually give this man his money back after 3 years of use.No Other company would do that I'm quite sure.
As for my situation of having bought 5 Amps that I can't use.
I still have 3 still not opened.I really could use help for the 3 I have sealed. And since I've bought them they've gone up in price by 600 dollars each.
I guess what I'm saying is if you could take 3 of them back, and sell them, and then charge the going rate, you could help me out and make a further profit.I would wait until they are sold to get my money back.I'm not an impatient person.
I am imploring you for your help.I really find it difficult to digest Bryston wouldn't help me out here as these 3 amps are not even opened.

Dude, you're really pouring gas on the fire now.  The author is on the phone to his lawyer as we speak seeking remedy for national slander. I think there is a Dutch law prohibiting Canadians from speaking ill of their ladies of the night. :nono:

I thought that there was a law in general that prevented Canadians from speaking ill will against anyone

I'll tell you what's not funny, a kidney transplant.  Try that sometime and you'll learn to laugh at stuff like this even if it is your amp in for service .  OK James, that said I'm following your orders and backing off .

The last thing I wanted to ask Bryston is to change this text in the SP2 manual on the website:

Quote
Contains the two line, black on green 16 character
per line alphanumeric display which indicates the
status and functional mode of the SP2.

My SP2 went away for 3 months because it was totally out of order. Also the display is replaced, but I think it's not the old display. So is there somebody who can show a photo of the display? Of course when the SP2 is on.

Thx

So....."who can show a photo of the display?"
Even the BCD-1s display can be turned off from the remote, love listening in the dark.
