If I had the world at my finger tips, which by the looks of your sub cabinet you do, I would go OB and forget the box! Just make the badest OB setup that your imagination can come up with!!!
I've been thinking of building new cabinets for my custom 3-way I built. My question is what's the best enclosure material? I would prefer something that can be CNC'd in my router / large mill.
That's easy, I would choose 1" Richlite http://www.richlite.com/. The material is $25 sq ft., easily machinable with a CNC and very non-resonant. Wayne
WayneI'll look into that. I take it that you've used it?
I'm not Wayne, but I have some very small samples of the material. It appears to be an MDF like material, but with a phenolic or similar resin binder. Like Wayne says it is heavy, dense and quite dead.Dave
What have you used it for?
Because I want more bass from a smaller enclosure, that's how smart engineers design equipment. I don't want my speakers to have an f3 at 90Hz. Or a speaker with an extremely large cabinet.
