Some very good ones already mentioned.  Those not mentioned that I thought were also extremely good; Karan.  And for those on a more reasonable budget; Redgum.

Marius,
I am so jealous you got a chance to hear these. I always wanted to give them a listen.  I wonder how many were actually produced.

Cost no object?

How about the MBL 9011...

or the Krell Evolution One...

or the Pass Labs XA200.5.

For something a little more down to earth I like the Parasound Halo JC 1.

There are many great amps which I can't and never will be able to afford.
It is great to occasionally hear what's out there but it can be costly.
DaRTZs amp/pre combo is one of the better/best combo (SS) for my personal taste. They are also nicely overbuild and kind of devilish looking - which I find quite sexy.

(Parasound Halo, Nelson Pass stuff, DAC Cherry, Modwright all great mid-line amps)

Personal SS setup - Nelson Pass buffer in front of Class D kit amp.

Been really happy with my Boulder 1060 amp.
Also liked my Theta Citadel amps - now for sale!

I've heard the Theta amps with MM3's and it was a very nice combination.   :thumb:

electrocompaniet aw75dmb's.  dual mono, 75wpc into 8 ohms, 140 into 4 ohms, 240 into 2 ohms, stable into loads <0.5 ohm, current output ~80 amps.  my amps are almost 20 years old; if i couldn't use tube amps, i would make do w/these.   8)  or any ec amps, for that matter - the specs on the current iteration of my amps are not too shabby:

for me it's the ASR Emitter II Exclusive Blue(gold boards) with battery power supply.  The amp is the best of SS & tube's to my ears ;)

not my pic but it's what I have.

Karan Acoustics  KA i180

edit: Alright, so technically my favorite solid state set-up is a pair of Karan 1200 mono's....  but the KA i180 is one of the better solid state amps that I've actually owned.

The best I've heard so far is Plinius, Pass Labs, and Redgum. Would love to hear what Ridley Audio has come up with but owners of their gear are in a much higher tax bracket.... :?

I had a Pass Aleph 3, which according to some people was the sweetest of the Aleph series, but I much prefer my Dayens Ampino.
