Riedel O tumblers

I like stems but these tumblers are great at parties and alfresco dining.  I think it's a bargain at $6.67 per tumbler.

I far prefer the stemless Reidel tumblers to those with a stem, for red wine. You can cradle them in your hand and not worry about knocking them over. And at this price you can have extra's around in case one breaks (they are still thin and fragile and Reidel-like.

I wish we had Costco around here.  We do have a local wine shop that actually has a really good price on the 4 pc Reidel stemlesses.  Reminds me that I should pick some up while they still have 'em.  I also prefer the stemless- I'm much less apt to break them.  Regular ones can even be tough to wash without breakage.

But cradling the glass will warm the wine...having a stem allows you to pick up the glass without warming it...

They ship you know.  I got mine shipped and they arrived well packed and safely.  I got Cab/Merlot and Pinot/Nebbiolo.

You are nursing it too long if your body temperature is raising the wine temperature.  It's not like you are holing the wine constantly and caressing it you know.

But you have a point.  I wouldn't do it with chilled wine.

this might be true while drinking wine at a dinner table... But if you are at a cocktail party holding the glass, then there is ample opportunity for your hand to warm the glass...
