Any good recommendations for a nice Tube Pre Amp w Remote option?  Price range of $600 or less.  Thanks! :eyebrows: :thumb:

The remote option really kills it...there's gotta be something used you could pick up though...

If you can DIY and don't need gain you should take a look at Gary Dodd's (Dodd Audio) battery powered buffer, it is really good!

that would be my recommendation as well.
•$325 preamp kit
•$199 remote control kit
• $60-$80 battery + smart charger

Double check.......? yes, definitely doable and first class sound if it sounds like it's big brother.

See the thread and try it. You will love it.

PS
My soldering skills are NON existent and I managed to get most of it in few hours.
If it was too challenging and not "dummies friendly", I wouldn't have it in Cheap and Cheerful".

See thread later tonight. I will post some pics from dry fit in cheap wooden enclousure with clear top to see some details and cutout for tube access.

Used Rogue 66?

That listing doesn't mention the remote, but I think they came with one.

Considering that the original incarnation of this was the Dodd Battery Pre-amp that was considered one of the top pre-amps around and a bargain at $3500, and the newest variation is a kit starting at $325, this may be the only preamp to even consider until you get up into the $4-5K range. It really has to be a no-brainer. I don't need one (I snapped up on of the first run of Gary's Battery pre's) and am planning on picking up a kit at the Lone Star Audio Fest.   :thumb:

if you only need two inputs, give this a try.  a bud of mine a-b'd it against a vtl tl5.5 and preferred it:

me, i'd personally wait for a used melos and pair it w/the diyparadise eva-2 remote...
