Radu is an awesome guy. I bought a 4p1L preamp from him and he did some repairs to a different pre I owned. Would love to hear one of his 300b amps in my system.

Yep. I had him custom-build my preamp to match the amp. These two purchases are the best audio decisions I made in 25 years of this hobby. The upgrade path for me would be like climbing Kilimanjaro -- the price is waaayyy too steep, so I'm happy with what I have.

Yeah, that's the 52-pound (23.5 kilos) power supply for the amp.

Ampex 6973 mono blocks, these were given to me a couple of years ago. I have replaced all the caps and out of spec resistors.

Great amplifiers!

I had a stereo version for a few years (sold it recently - to fund a Magnavox 6BQ5 SEP project) and looked for a pair of these, but the ones I saw were either in poor condition, asking too much, or both.

My favorite tube Amp depends on speakers used. I like Alan Eaton, Audio Hungary, Benchmark, Warp-1.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned already, but the Coincident Dynamo SE34 mk2 is a great little amp. I wish I hadn’t sold it. I’m hoping a Mk3 comes up for sale…

That must weigh a ton, or close to anyway!

… For me has to be a Scott 299C tube amp - 28 watts per channel of crystal clarity, with new tubes and capacitors of course.

On second thoughts, I think my favourite tube amps right now are the Spatial Audio Blackbird mono's with the matching Raven preamp and Ray Reserve tubes. Both amps are true balanced, have a very good volume control, excellent build quality & offer the best of solid state and a classical push-pull tube sound.

Personally i'd rather buy a pair of Atma-Sphere MA-1 mono's just north of the price of the Ayons - https://www.atma-sphere.com/en/ma-1.html

I know those amps very well. I have a friend that has a pair with the MP1 preamp. He loves them.  Not my cup of tea and nothing special.  I prefer my Pass X250 amp with my BAT VK51se preamp.  By the way, I live 15 minutes from Atma-Sphere, 30 minutes from Magnepan, 45 minutes from ARC and Bel Canto.  And 5 minutes from Van Alstine.
