...and add these of course... for a holographic soundstage, more air, better defined rhythm and pace:

Sure. Here's a serious comment after seeing the review.

You wanted some extra bass and treble compared to your existing speakers. Judging by measurements the JBL horns will deliver these in spades. However be warned that being 89 dB sensitivity and a difficult load you may also be looking at an upgrade to a 14B.

If you like horns, may I suggest the Magico Ultimate II's?

I've never heard them, they're huge and expensive.

In the price is no object speaker arena, I was always partial to the Duntech Sovereign's, and there downright inexpensive compared to some speakers,  since those were the reference speakers for some of the RR recordings that I have.

Top of the line KEF's and Thiel's are the nicest speakers that I've ever heard.

Laundrew, have you ever considered these:

they're as steampunk as they can get.

Cool, then I have more reason to audition them.

I believe James said the 4BSST is fine?

Probably is. Or you could explore a lateral move - Anthem Statement P2 aka "The Sledgehammer". It's specified for 675 W sustained into 2 ohms. With 8 ohms it doesn't even warm up.

No, no, I'm not buying another make of amp.

Dave, I said "explore" not "buy". Like in test them side by side and if the Sledgehammer doesn't do anything extra, then you'll confidently keep the 4B.
