This week I bought 2 extremely well recorded vinyl pressings. I am currently listening to them.
The first is a Vinlyphyle UMe remaster of Heart's Dreamboat Annie and the second is a 45 rpm LP 2025 remaster from Acoustic sounds of the 1969 CSN album.
The Heart album is spectacular. It has very clarity, air, transparency, resolution and dynamics. The sound stage is wide with good spacing between instruments. Anne Wilsons voice is fabulous. It is the very best pressing of this album that I have heard. No brightness or fatigue.
The CSN album which is currently playing is very good. The sound stage is extremely wide and deep. The stereo separation and spacing is fabulous. It actually has bass which the original did not and it was flat sounding IMHO. This one is punchy and musical. The only negative comment is that the clarity is not top notch and I am sure that has to do with the original recording and the fact that they seem to have added some warmth. All of CSN's albums were recorded like crap and are exposed on a high end system. With that being said, I believe it is the best pressing of this album. There is no brightness or fatigue that plagued a lot of albums back then.
Both of these were expensive but worth it to me. And so far, no clicks, pops or bad surface noise.
