Last night, I listened to the following.
First up was American Grafitti soundtrack. Some of those recordings were hilariously bad. Prior to having my Bryston, one would not notice the difference in recording quality.
Next was the "Definitive Hits" by Herb Alpert. Recording quality on this CD is all over the place. The worst track, for recording quality, is "The Lonely Bull" It sounds like it was recorded in a garage.
After that, I listened to a couple of tracks from Dave Grusin's "The Gershwin Connection". Ah, that's much better. I really like Gershwin works and this recording is well played and well recorded.
I finished the evening with the Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Herbert Von Karajan, performing Beethoven's 5th and 6th Symphonies.
