Ravi Shankar - Concerto for Sitar & Orchestra , LSO/ Andre Previn.

The 'Sitar' is a Hindustani classical music instrument since the middle ages (13th century). Although I'm not always interested in exotic foreign instruments and music. But this one is something very special. Superb recording and mastering, and the music itself, Mmmm, 'Very special' - Strangely refreshing and very dramatic. From the first minute to the very last.

Definitely worthy of your attention.  :thumb:

anyway, stunning as ever, Bernstein's live recordings, Berliner in the old days. Ripped and playing through the BDP now....I wonder if the BCD plays this one, since its longer than 74 min,

gone for 80 minutes now.

It's sweet to re-discover one's love, especially beloved movie scores.  The recording is good, well balanced and the performance is simply terrific. Some say it's very 'exciting' to hear a powerful,  vibrant and energetic orchestra performance. Oh yes,  the Boston Pops is among the most exciting ones ---They're always sitting on the edges of their chair, ready for anything.

The Superman March, ah yes, all the glory and brightness!  And the Starwars theme, behold, the force! :icon_lol:

Kids are back to school so it's an "All Vinyl Friday" afternoon [Bryston/Torus guts with a Clearaudio TT].

Originals from my youth, Grand Illusion is in gold vinyl / True Colours is laser etched.  I doubt they sound better than the norm but they look good on the turntable.

Just received the "Analogue Productions" remastered "Tea for the Tillerman".  The quality of the packaging and the vinyl disc are first rate;  sound quality on my modest vinyl system is terrific.
