Chicago ( AKA " Chicago II " ). Rhino re-issue
What a pity that Rhino didn't have the original master tapes from this recording to work with as they were destroyed in a fire at Caribou Studios. Terry Kath's jawdropping solo on "25 or 6 to 4" still impresses after hearing 40 years worth of guitar solos since this was recorded.

Leave Your Sleep- Natalie Merchant (Nonesuch). The arrangements and musicianship on this are mind blowing. Even the liner notes and packaging. A monumental 2010 release from this lass

The National - " Boxer "

An opportunity to hear what a musical drummer can do for rather than to a well-written song...

This band is the total package - hooky, haunting melodies wrapped around cryptic, thought-provoking lyrics sung by a unique voice, understated but expert musicianship and a unique, fresh sound. Sound like I'm raving ? You bet I am.
This band should be HUGE. Here's hoping...
