Danny, do you think this design for the V-series OB speakers will be okay?
Is it okay that the center driver doesn't have side panels in the front?
This is just a start, so there will be little adjustment to it.

Now that's creative!

I think you still need a little more side panel to fill out the front part of the box for the upper sub though. And the side panels are an integral part of the structural support of the whole speaker. So I'd figure out a way to keep the look but beef it up.

Not if he used the open back version (modded version) of the P-Audio driver.

I like the middle one (red) too...fits the color scheme I was thinking of for my eternally-yet-to-be-built home theater. 
The wife works in the music industry so it might be an easier sell to her too with the music notes on the side!
