Yes, the NW is known for our mushrooms - lol.  Like funkmonkey, I would know nothing about that...  8)

I am using two consumer class lasers, two RGB led light strips (behind the acoustic panels), and one "water" effect light display (ceiling).  I am getting an RGB laser next, that does much more than the consumer class lasers.  The consumer class uses a high power laser and rotating hologram to create a prism effect, multiplying a single moving dot into thousands. 

The laser I have are like the one below (pretty nice)

I use a Blisslight BL15, a class IIIa laser....it has the moving green stars and the moving (or liquid I think is how you described it) cloud background.....it's a fun thing to add to a listening room...

I'm unfamiliar with the research being referenced....

So THAT'S what it looks like when an LCY ribbon blows.  Very impressive.
