Some light reading on cables. Just in case someone might think i have any connection to Emotiva i do not.  I just thought the article was interesting

I would like to flex my knowledge of the many heavy metals. Personally Plutonium rods sound the best, but you die quickly. Now if you cover them in silver you may live .0008732548 seconds longer. Advantage. Silver Plating.

nathanm seems a little quiet of late.

Actually I like your attitude. You take no BS and support your claims. What really puzzles me here is we have a Manf who sells a product for a fair price and promises great results. A thirty day trial period and willing to start a tour.
So to all you naysayers until you try them in your system SHUT UP. A little teasnig is fine until you try them. Then and then only can you comment. Yes I will agree some of his statements are out there but again the PROOF is in the pudding.
I do not cryo treatment either. It dulled everything I have tried to date. Tubes, ICs, powercords etc. Same with fancy expensive connectors. IMO heavy silver over copper has always offered consistent results which are excellent IMO. My favorite is Audio Note for RCA and speaker binding posts . Same for IECs and Plugs, silver over copper. The others sounded different for sure just not my cup of tea. There are to many variables to say ANYTHING is the best.

What I am getting to is THERE IS NO BEST JUST DIFFERENT. What if he is correct. Isn't worth a try ?  :duh:

Now I am really anxious to try them. They will be going against the following. Tara Decade ICs [$600], Harmonix Golden ratio ICs [ $2400], JPS Labs SC-3 ICs [ $1200] and Omega Mikro active speaker cables [ $1200]. GOOD LUCK.

I like his attitude, also!

Hey the guy has his opinions and is brash and outspoken.  So what?   :dunno:  He thinks there's lots of hocus pocus and snake oil in this hobby, and I agree with him.  If he wants to pull the curtain back on the man pulling the levers, so be it.  I find it refreshing.

OTOH, I think it's kindof silly to proclaim in audio that anything is "the best".   Tastes, systems, synergies, hearing abilities, etc are just way too varied to ever make that sort of claim.  I think he is opening himself up to criticism with that claim and just making it tougher for himself in general, but apart from that, I have no problem whatsoever with Norbert.

No reason to criticize the guy for being direct, outspoken and having his opinions.

I am surprised at the statement that solder was better than the best plain mechanical connection - my understanding was that a proper wire wrap connection is best (around a square cross section post) so, for soldered to be called 50 times better surprised me, as did the comment that gold plated XLRs are rare - they cost only $3.40 each (makes RCA prices look as silly as they are) and are not at all in short supply.

Neutrik were the first to come to market with them, but that was at least 20 years ago.

So now you are false advertising?  The tittle of this thread is Best Audio Cables in the World!!! Guaranteed!!!

I completely disagree in your opionion to cryo.  That's just me though...
It's not just you, you know.

I don't know about you, but I don't listen to data unless it is decoded through a really good DAC.

The thing that I love about pure objectisim is the inability to see the forest for the trees much less hear the differences for all of the data getting in the way.  That's just me though...

jtwrace - If you find me some room temperature superconductors, I will update my entire cable line :)

If some of you believe in cryo, it is YOUR responsibility to prove that they are electrically superior, not my responsibility to disprove them. So... Anyone care to share some real data?

So would you be willing to provide the same to prove your wires are the "best in the world?"

Copper is certainly one of the best metals for connectors, however, it is better if it's silver plated. Copper oxidizes and copper oxide is more resistive than copper, so no good. Silver also oxidizes, but silver oxide is actually less resistive than silver!! An oxidized silver connector actually becomes better electrically speaking.

First of all, silver tarnish is silver sulfide, not silver oxide.  Secondly, it is less conductive than pure silver. Not trying to nit pick, but this has been mistakenly discussed before as well.  Just a bit of chemistry  :thumb:

As Mr. G. Russ of Bell Labs states from this abstract of his 1970 paper:

"Abstract

Frequently the electrical performance of silver contacts is impaired by the unavoidable growth of a sulfide film on the mating contact surfaces. In the case where one or both of the electrodes are silver, or partly silver, and a silver sulfide film is formed on one or both of the electrodes, the electrical performance is greatly deteriorated and is among the most complex found on contaminated contacts. A recent study of the electrical performance of various sulfided contacts is reported that showed that they are characterized by an increased contact resistance that is dependent on the voltage polarity, by a nonohmic relationship between the contact voltage and current, and by a resistance that changes with time. turkey - I'm already doing a free tour and offering money back guarantee, so that's above and beyond.

If any of you out there are electronic engineers with the proper measuring equipment, sign up for the tour, test my cables, and publish the data. Here are some important parameters to measure and compare to other cables: time and phase alignment, bandwidth, insertion loss, reflection, damping factor, noise floor, shielding effectiveness, etc.

Put them against any audiophile cables and post your findings :)

Just don't compare them to military cables terminated with SMA connectors, they will always outperform. It's unfortunate we as consumers have to be stuck with the significantly inferior RCAs.

So it's ok for you to demand that other people do this, but you won't do it yourself? Sorry, but I call BS.

I have a couple of friends who would be willing to do this. I can have them contact you and give you a price quote if you'd like.

Guys, this is an ad.  Nagy is offering a demo for the price of shipping.  He makes them the way he does for his own reasons not yours.  If you like them fine, if not that's fine too.

Give me a price quote? I've measured plenty of cables in my life, including my own and I have some pretty decent equipment. I've already satisfied my own curiosity. But I have no problem if someone wants to measure them against any other cables, just sign up for the tour.

Communications, military, and aerospace cables are the very best spec'd cables in the world, both electrically and mechanically. There's no room for argument against that. And I pick the very best from those industries.

What do I look for? Bandwidth, bandwidth, bandwidth!!!! This is the most important parameter of a cable. It means that the cables have to be extremely precise geometry wise and electrically. They're incredibly hard to manufacture.

I won't disclose what cables I decided to pick, nor will I publish certain cable specs. Because there will always be someone who does a google search and decides to copy them. Even though proper termination is extremely important and quite hard to achieve sometimes.

They have the best dielectric, Teflon. Least resistive metals, copper and silver. And are of coax design.

My basic design goals for different types of cables are as follows:

RCA Interconnects - Teflon dielectric, silver/copper conductors, coax geometry, widest possible bandwidth (this allows to transfer audio frequencies with extreme time and phase precision), impedance matched terminations 150 ohm (to minimize reflections, which ruin the time and phase precision), proper shielding against EMI/RFI, low capacitance/inductance.

XLR Interconnects - Impedance matching, Teflon dielectric, silver/copper conductors. Bandwidth is limited in a 2 conductor cable with a shield. XLRs could never transfer signals as precise as a coax RCA/SMA cable can, proper shielding against EMI/RFI, low capacitance/inductance.

Power Cable - Impedance matching (I do this even though it's of minimum benefit, but if I'm going to make the best in the world, I have to account for it, hence is why I use certain AC plugs/IECs), proper shielding, silver/copper conductors, proper gauge.

RCA Digital - Same as RCA interconnects, but I have more options as far as cable choices are concerned. I can use steel clad and get away with it, because digital operates at higher frequencies.

Speaker Wire - Low insertion loss, damping factor, Teflon dielectric, silver/copper conductors, proper gauge, low capacitance/inductance design (the conductors have to be twisted very tightly so no air gaps exist).

Something like Carlsberg's slogan is a little more humble...

Good luck with the cables.

So sure of yourself.... and so wrong.

 :banghead:

I'm done with this.

Dave, out
I mean no disrespect, but I believe you said bye,bye awhile ago,so let it be and let some of us look forward to the Tour De France!
I purchased $650 wireworld 2m silver power cable new for $200 from a dealer,so lets talk markup.
