Canares are super cheap and mostly stamped. The broadcast industry uses them because they are inexpensive and quick to attach, no soldering, etc. And they don't even use them all that much, because the primary connector for broadcast is RF and those are even less expensive.

The recording industry mostly use XLRs, dins, 1/4", and mini jacks. And most of those are soldered.

I highly doubt that those ends that you're having made are MADE IN USA. It's almost unthinkable how you can have those made in the USA and charge $160 for a cable and make a living full time and we've just heard of you.

CNC lathes are very expensive and so is the front end before the raw material even gets to it.

jtwrace, all cable and wire, which includes XLR, digital, power, speaker, and interconnect is made 100% in U.S.A. In multi million dollar state of the art facilities.

Power plug connectors are made in U.S.A., Mexico, or England.

Spades are made by Cardas, not sure where they make them, maybe Asia.

Bananas are all made in Asia.

Neutrik XLR connectors are made in Liechtenstein.

RCA connectors are made by Vampire, not sure where he actually machines them.

hello,

i work in broadcast almost 20 years and no real truck, studio, earthlink, or anything else for that reason uses canares or really ever uses their cable either. we all use ADC,Kings,Belden. just thought i should point that out.

Ok. It makes much more sense to me that you are using someone else's connectors. I took what you said as YOU were having them made for you.

I worked my way through this entire thread (binned posts included). I note that a few mention they have never heard of Nagys Audio. While I admit I am not familiar with their products I did do a bit of historical reasearch and find that Norbert has been posting actively since June of 2006, including about his cables. Not trying to create waves and it's darn near impossible to know of all audio related products both in and out of production but if the man is willing to put his money where his mouth is I say give him a chance.

I'll be interested in what y'all have to say.

Jake, I'm with you on this. While I find his advertising claim a wee bit questionable, I find that most advertising is, too. I've heard "THE BEST LOUDSPEAKERS IN THE WORLD, PERIOD!" and they just sucked on that day. I appreciate his money back guarantee, although I would like to see a 30 day trial. It is hard to fully assess cabling until fully broken in and over a few sessions.

I can understand an owner's pride in his products. I have a great deal of pride in mine. I'm sure that Norbert is of the same mindset as I am - put out THE BEST product that you can with the resources that we have.... but I would add one of these caveats: "Under $XXXXX", "Arguably", "all around" or something to that effect. There is always that system that will not work with a company's product. I've had one out of almost 200

I hated sending that guy's money back.

Norberts a very nice guy but a litte young, his claim shows a bit of imaturity or lack of experience with the statement he makes about his cables being the best. He does have a number of years working in one of Chicago's major audio stores but his opinions are biased, especially towards Goldmund electronics and his cables. But then again, most of us have been young and cocky in our youth and time has a way of bringing us to our senses so don't hold that against him. When I was his customer he always treated me well and did his best to help me with my needs. There is no one product that will be the best in the world and certainly not in all systems no matter how good they are. Just adding the human equation to the factor, all other things a side should prove that.

Having experience with his cables listening to his IC's, power cord and digital cable left me with the impression that they are a good product and will work well in some systems, but not all. My ears lead me to believe there are other cables I feel surpass his cables and prefer to use and sell but that's my ears. Others may find his cables to be their cable of preference or may go the path I've taken and realize a different cable may be better suited to their needs.

Either way does not diminish the quality of his cable, just the preference of ones ear and the synergy of ones system. I say give them a listen and let your ear be the judge.

If Art thinks they are good/bad, I trust him implicitly. Just check out his system. I'll be waiting to hear from you Art. For now, until I have my room optimized and built, your system overall (especially your room, not just the speakers!) does serve as a gold standard.

Well stated, Dave. I also have heard very expensive speakers sound worse than less expensive ones and not due the speakers but due to poor setup and/or mismatched electronics...in reputable dealer's fine audio salons to boot. I never try to place blame because I can't imagine how hard it is to run a business, pick equipment that is complimentary to one another, and then put together systems at specific price points to satisfy the local market.

But I would like to try.

One out of two hundred? Jeez, that half a percent. Pretty darn good, IMO.

Joe, thanks for the kind comments, it's been a long time. I have a whole new line of cables, much different from the ones I made you a long time ago. I would be interested in your opinion on the new line.

I now have 16 people interested in listening to my cables, so I think I will go ahead with the A.C. tour. I will talk to my partners tomorrow and let you all know when I will ship the cables out to the first person on the list. From there you will be responsible for shipping the cables to the next person on the list, etc.

I will be sending RCA interconnects, speaker wire, RCA digital, XLR interconnect, and power cable.
