Or are there things you are thinking of, circuitry-wise, that allow for better bass (hard to believe that's possible relative to your full-range amps) since it won't have to go high up in frequency?

Like, can you change the modulation frequency to boost damping etc. (I think you told me once that there is some trade-off between frequency vs. power consumption vs. quality)

I have no idea what I'm talking about, obviously

and like a cherry, a plum is a stone fruit.

So with "Plum" we've got a good play on words for a bass amp, and a name that stays in-line with, yet sufficiently differentiates itself from, established models.

OK back to the sub amp- Tommy, what makes this sub amp a sub amp?

I'd love to see one of your amps w/ a level control/adjustable low pass/ maybe parametric eq - The goodies one usually thinks of for sub amps.

Yeah, probably so. My thinking was that these amps put out lots of bass, but it is extremely tight. So I understand. A lot of thunder, and a Cherry Pit. Oh, well, nice try. it does have a good marketting ring though. "We don't have any ThunderPitts in stock at the moment."

Wow! I betcha that's probably 500 in to 8 ohms. Great amp for a Musicans concert, for a great amp.

Came across this thread while searching for something else....

I guess the MEGAschino could be used as a sub amp, and it will be by a new customer that is planning to buy passive subs just to use MEGAschino to drive them! He has a pair of MEGAschino MONOs, and he's thrilled with the performance full-range.

MEGAschino is awesome for bass. It's DC coupled, so no bass phase shift and response down to 0Hz.

Oh, and POWER.... The MEGAschino can output up to 2kW into 2Ω!

SNR is 120dB, and FULL RANGE (150kHz BW).

Don't need no stinking subwoofer!! And quit buying speakers with 6 1/2" mid woofers a great start. Find a full range floor stander that goes down to the 30Hz range faithfully and save the trouble of trying to match the damn thing. I am looking at the Tekton line-up to find "bass balls" like my VMPS Super Tower R monsters deliver. I love deep bass too but not at the cost of having one or two subs strewn about the room.
