Can  you tell what's different (sounding) between the sealed sub and the OB subs?
Not really.  It would take a lot of swapping in and out and re-setup to get to that answer and it really needs to be measured for that.  At the moment I'm crossing the sealed one over at 50hz but at a somewhat reduced level (kind of filling in only), and the OB's are at about 80hz acting as the main subs L and R.

The best way to describe it is the OB's are darn near invisible, sounding as quick and direct as the mid/woofer.  I know in a technical sense it's not really about speed, but it just sounds very continuous, like it keeps going deeper without any obvious transition.  The sealed sub adds just a smidge of that visceral physical impact you can feel that the OB's don't.

Final setup with all 3 subs and OB grills finally done and installed.  I think the grills were the hardest part of the whole project - ugh, but done feels (and sounds) good.

Congrats on building some excellent gear, and big kudos for finishing it - I know that my DIY projects often fail at the 90% completion stage, and the cosmetics take years...

Well done!  Thanks for sharing.

Looks great. :thumb: I'm sure it even sounds better. That's the sub setup that I'm working towards.

You've got to have one of the top systems in Indiana! That's pretty much the sub setup I'll have as well, except the low end will be a pair of 18 inch Maelstrom-X's in sealed enclosures.

Should be great for audio and home theater.

Anand.

That is mighty sweet Tom and I suspect I've a pretty fair idea of how it sounds.  :thumb:

Outstanding  :eyebrows:  And now it's my turn to go down this road but as I mentioned to you the other day I will need to fine a cabinet worker here in Dallas as I don't have the tools, work space or talent required for such fine subs.

How did you do the wiring from the subs to the amp?
I am trying to figure out if should mount a binding post or speakon on the OB frame, or make a short stub with a speakon, or run a longer wire with a speakon.

You can tell I've been on the dark side of this hobby for too long because it always throws me when I see people still using regular old zip cord.

Does anyone have a freq response for the sub section(I found the super v chart) of the super v?

Thanks

The frequency response is completely adjustable with various settings, EQ, etc. It will play as high as 300Hz and as low as 20Hz (flat), and a -3db in the teens.

Was there a cabinet resonance in the 200's Hz to eliminate.
