What's the best Pink Floyd concert DVD?

I've come to love concert vids, and want one by the Floyd...but which?

Obviously I'd like the one with the best sound. I would prefer the original band intact, but if a Gilmour or Waters version sounds best, then ok.

The Delicate Sound of Thunder. I know that guy that invented the Floyd Droids. Excellent video, love the Pink Floyd backup singers!

I haven't heard all the Pink Floyd albums, but a fair number. IMO Pulse is the best as it has the best version of Comfortably Numb that I've heard and I think I heard them all.

As for sound quality Dark Side of the Moon in hybrid sacd is outstanding. (I play it on cd in my BCD-1) I've compared it to the DTS version, which is quite good, and the original cd version, which begins to sound harsh at about 95 decibels.
The sacd was still smooth at 110 decibels C weighted, which is as loud as I dare go as my amp ran out of juice.

For picture/sound quality: Pulse.

For performance: Live at Pompeii.

I have all the Pink Floyd albums on vinyl plus several CDs. I also have the Pulse DVD and 3 David Gilmour DVDs including Live at Gdansk. I do not have the one Wayner posted. I think Pulse is excellent. They play DSOTM from beginning to end without stopping.

Also, IMO the Live 8 DVD is worth having if for no other reason than to see Pink Floyd reunited for the one and only time now that Richard Wright has passed on. Breathe, Money, Wish You Were Here, and Comfortably Numb. It is a great 4 song set. You get to see pigs fly and Waters, Gilmour, Wright, and Mason bowing to the crowd, arm in arm at the end. Very cool

+1 on the picture vs. performance. Live at Pompeii is the one to own. Especially on DVD, which includes the original, performance-only version.

They all have their qualities but this is still my favorite...the arrangement and new twists on songs I love is wonderful...the solo Shine On You Crazy Diamond...choir instead of synth on Coming Back To Life...really good stuff IMO..

I ordered Pulse as I had to have "Comfortably Numb, as I'm now learning the leads on guitar. But I suppose I'll have to go ahead and get Delicate....

Who carries Live 8? I've seen clips on Utube and it's awesome, but didn't find it at Amazon.

Maybe not under Floyd??

Ordered Pulse also as a result of this thread. I got a Pat Metheny Group DVD a few years back..."We Live Here"-Live in Japan..exquisite watch, great interview with Pat.

The quality of the audio and video....meh....it's alright, but the show is to die for.

+1 This is very good. The choir is awesome on High Hopes as well and the stand up bass and cello add a nice touch to some old Pink Floyd songs.

Get 'em all. Start collecting. My favs are Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Live at Pompeii. On the solo Waters side, In the Flesh is good Floyd.

I'm wondering if they're ever going to come out with the concert footage from the ORIGINAL Wall tour back in 1982(?)? It was filmed and you can find some bits and pieces here and there on the Internet. Teeny-tiny bits and pieces.

Beyond that, you can't go wrong with any of the aforementioned recommendations. I've got 'em all (except Waters' Berlin The Wall concert; Waters' In The Flesh concert; and Delicate Sound of Thunder. I'll get Delicate when/if it's ever officially released on DVD here)

You also can't go wrong with The Wall movie!!!

I bought DSotM in 1974, the day after it was released.I dunno how many version of it I've bought reg. LP, Mobile Fidelity LP, 8 track (yep) cassette, CD, remastered CD. I always thought of it as my 'desert island' recording.

I hadn't listened to it in awhile, but w/ playing the guitar and learning Gilmour licks, I'm more of a Floyd fanatic than ever. Simply amazing artist.

Well, the 2001 Gilmour 'unplugged' DVD has a feature where it zooms in on his fingers, to help you learn his licks.
