Mojo Audio Power Cords: $200/cord obo. $400 new
« on: 2 Mar 2010, 08:31 pm »
I have several Mojo Audio power cords for sale, three 10 AWG and one 14 AWG with Furutech connectors.  They are constructed from the highest quality NOS wire with a braided copper RFI/EMI/Static shielding and a durable braided polymer cover.  I found them to be very musical with great midrange bloom and fantastic bass.  Due to their filtering capacity, they are also very quiet.  I have owned Cardas Golden reference,  JPS, and Intuitive Design cords, and the Mojo cords are better.  Shootouts have been performed with PCs from Lessloss, Tara Labs, and Shunyata, and again, the Mojo PCs won the day.  One of my audio friends recently liquidated his pricey Shunyata collection for these and pocketed quite a bit of $$.  I use the 14 AWG on my front end and the 10 AWG on my pre-amp and monoblock amps.  Price is for an individual cord.  They are a little over 2 months old.  Steeper discounts available if buyer purchases multiple cords.

Hi there.  Thanks for asking.

The wire used in these cord was engineered by Western Electric for use as an A/C power conductor primarily for military and professional grade applications. Fabrication cost was high and they scrapped making it.  The wire itself was fabricated from a single cooper rod which was then drawn into the fine strands.  This process of drawing elongates the crystalline structure of the copper and is supposed to result in lower resistance.  Each individual strand was then plated with a Western Electric proprietary alloy.  This did not involve the more typical electro-plating.  They were actually dipped in a molten bath of the plating alloy, resulting in thicker plating and a supposedly anneals the copper, leading to a relaxation of inter-crystalline tension.

This is the logic behind these cables.  I am not an engineer or material science guy (I am in the medical sciences), so I cannot attest to the veracity of all this.  They do sound good.  That's all I can attest to.

I am interested in one of your 10 ga. cords. Please reply with more info: length, what Furutech connectors are used (copper, rhodium etc). Thanks.
