Maverick was last spotted in Fargo, North Dakota...the Lagoon Saloon...the table, #5...the game, black Jack, all or nothing at all.  :eyebrows:

Oh, I see it now, being towed along the AZ/UT border,

Cool

enjoy it! :thumb:

I might be going downtown Brooklyn on Mon. or Tue.
If you like, we can swap some opamps that just arrived and replace the stock tube with GE tube. (surly not the cream of the crop but better then stock)

Cheers

Thanks Mariusz.  Monday I'll probably not be available to meet up with you......  Besides, I don't need to swap opamps I guess.  Not an opamp fan.  I'll see how the Maverick sounds with the stock tube first, vs the EE with the stock tube (I already have the EE stock tube sound sized up)....... :thumb:

Got it from Martin this a.m., Mariusz.  Right now, it's just sitting there, warming up, tho I briefly drove it.  Now, just an observation/comment - Did anyone notice that each time you change track, or start to play a CD, you would hear a click-click (twice) from the DAC (using coax)?

I have noticed the clicks also.  It bothered me at first but now I am over it.

Honestly, no I've not. But then again, I wasn't using CD player or CD transport.
My setup looked something like this: Itouch with iTransporter from Onkyo to Maverick.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeap...it like a grinding clicking sound, thought I had crickets eating away on something. Very noisy when locking onto a signal.

Had the Mav 1 for a few days, unfortunately I bought a new amp for main listening area at same time, been playing with it.  :)

However, in my home office today, working then finishing taxes, so pulled Mav 1 out of shipping box, connected to PC, used USB in and analog out to Carver receiver, no sound. Checked all setup on PC, but no joy. Did hear clicks out of speakers when I movered controls, so it was a live connection, just no sound.

Then went to analog in, with a stereo mini-jack adapter out of the PCs mobo, and got sound.

Time to listen. I'll test for the clicking sound.

Before I removed the Maverick I listened to the SS output...sounded very good to me, in some ways better than the Tube output. YMWV.

I also thought the ss output sounded better than the tube one did. I suspect tube rolling may improve things though

This might be a similar issue , so maybe you have a faulty unit

With original tubes, not bad.

Listening to The Planets by HOLST by Orchestre National de France-Colin Davis, nice depth, punch and definition.

The bottom end a little 'unformed', but I wouldn't kick it outta bed.

Tomorrow I'll start tube rolling.
