Is this the opamp for the headphone amp section?  If so, I'll pass.

Nope, according to the faq at head-fi  it is for the DAC section http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f5/maverick-audio-tubemagic-d1-condensed-faq-info-thread-470639/

I don't follow that thread, so what's the 1364 and 4562 opamps for?  Btw, did you see that I have the GE 5670W for you.

Meeting up with Ken on Monday and I will ship it out right away hopefully you will get it by Wednesday or Thursday.  After you Ed (eclein) would like to take it for a test drive.

I'll be out of town Mon and Tues, so no hurry.

the 4562 can used in the dac or amp section. The 1364 is only for the dac section

Opamp Swapping:
DAC [U5] --------      Amp [U6] --------       Result
LT1364CN8#PBF --    LM4562NA/NOPB --      Less shrill, more detailed bass, very low DC offset.
OPA627 ----------     N/A --------------        Clean and laidback. Great for grainy/bad recordings.
N/A --------------      AD823 -----------         Forward, in your face. Good for warm 'phones. DC Offset: 120/180mV
N/A --------------      LME49720 --------        Neutral and natural. DC Offset: 120/180mV

This is copy/paste from Head-fi

Personally, I will take LT1364CN8#PBF & LM4562NA/NOPB
and opa627

Quick quote about opa627 from another user:

"Spanky, Yes, its for the dac socket. The opa627 is very clean sounding, laid back but not too dark or anything. The base is perfect! The mids are clean very nicely defined. The treble flows very nicely but its a little recessed which seems to hide recording imperfections nicely. The laid back character of this opamp really smooths out grainy/bad recordings. Its a great opamp to day dream to! (cheesy I know but thats what it sounds like)"

Hmm, a couple of those have very similar numbers to opamps I bought to modify two of my DI/Os: Linear LT1365 and Linear LT49740.  I like the LT1365 but didn't care for the LT49740.

Deepak - please order the LT1364CN8#PBF and LM4562NA/NOPB for me.  Thanks.

Get one from Shak for 9 bucks.
Do what you have to.
Return it so next guy on tour can do his op amp rolling.
