Thanks re the flac comments.

I now understand that the iTouch would simply function as a remote control.  However, if I'm going to spring for an new iTouch, I'd like it if the device could serve as my DAP...thus my issue, as all of my files are flac.  I could convert them to another usable codec, but then I'd need to manage 2 libraries I guess which is not attractive.

I found a free alternative using my PS3 which I had forgotten to consider.....Orb. So I can now stream my music to my home theater setup
and it sounds better than I thought it would!! Thank you all for your help...you guys are a great help.

I have really hit on something nice here!! Streaming my music to my Playstation 3 Slim and listening via my home theater setup is outstanding! The depth of the sound is wonderful, it must be the processor in the PS3, using ORB I am listening to my native itunes library and I'm hearing the full breath of this music. No more clipping or compressed highs, each file plays with full dynamic range that I didn't even think existed on mp3's! The sound is very open and defined each instrument coming through in detail I have never heard before in any mp3.
The ORB software is very buggy but when its working its really working!! This is huge for me as you can tell, I'm now able to listen to my entire music library with a new found clarity I didn't think was possible without some form of hardware intervention. As it rains here in Allentown I'll be spending my day smiling and listening to my music library for what feels like the first time.  :eyebrows: :icon_lol:

Just point the netbook browser to the same URL as your home SqueezeSever one.  Frankly it's the same way iPeng or other Squeeze apps work...the SqueezeServer web interface is a published URL, accessible inside your network.  And the web GUI has skins if you don't like the default one.

This topic is beginning to feel like it should be in discless circle. (edit: well, guess I have some pull around here.  :)    )

But append ":9000" to the url, so for example, if the SB is located at 192.168.10.25 for the SB web UI the url would be "http://192.168.10.25:9000"

Here's a screen shot demo'ing the "Default" skin.
