James

Congrats on the KEF 207/2's.  Not a Bryston owner (yet), but love the KEFs.

205/2
202/2C

Mark

Dave - I'd say very neutral.  Listened to 30+ pairs of speaker prior to purchase.  Leans toward a Revel Studio 2, but smoother IMHO.

Cool. I wish could afford them!

Nice system! It'll be awesome with those 207s.

Hi,

Those are real KEF speakers. Very Nice.

I stood next to the KEF Blade speakers - works of art? maybe......
But notwhat I would call "real" speakers.

For me looks come a far second behind audio quality.

Hi Andy - have you heard the 207's and how would you rank them?

Excellent choice..

I am driving a pair of KEF Reference 201/2's with a (three months old) 14BSST2.. Fantastic sound..

But of course are in the process of 'talking my wife' into something bigger (205/2 or 207/2) to get more out of the 14B...

In case you haven't read the review...

http://stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/208kef/index.html

"While spaces remain in my heart for the Sonus Faber Amati homage, the mbl 111B, the Dynaudio Confidence C4, the original Revel Ultima Studio, and the Wilson Audio Sophia, I must say that the Series 2 revision of KEF's Reference 207, the 207/2, is overall the best-sounding full-range speaker I have used in my current listening room. To all intents and purposes, it is without flaw."

The impedance curve looks a bit scary though, not Thiel scary but still.

Hi Al,

That's not the tweeter - it's the midrange and tweeter combined in  a COAXIAL driver arrangement.

James,

i know that this is the coax. i just don't like the style of it. looks a bit lost...all alone on the very top of the speaker. but that's just me.

Hi Al,

Yes it is a bit different but the lack of diffraction from cabinet really provides one hell of a soundstage!

James,

Isn't the coincidental arrangement of the tweeter and midrange driver a Jim Thiel invention?  I seem to remember that he pioneered that concept but could be wrong.  I know that the great soundstage you are hearing is a Thiel hallmark.
