The ad for the speakers certainly was productive so I might as well try doing the same for the stands. I need a pair of stands for the ACI Sapphire XL's and would prefer the ones originally sold by ACI but will consider others if they are of good quality and can be filled with sand.

Greetings Cliff,

In answer to your question, they are made of MDF and are totally solid.  Meaning, they are not mass loadable.
The base is quite heavy though, as there is a steel plate sandwiched between the MDF layers, which adds a good deal of stability.
