Hi James,

I might be on to something, but it may be common to all the units.
When I put my BCD-1 into standby, and this is repeatable, four to five seconds later you hear what sounds like the the capacitors discharging, this is what I'm experiencing while playing a disc, but louder and sharper.

If anyone has the time to try this and report back it would be greatly appreciated, if it's common with all the units them I'm back to square one, if not it may be the heart of the problem.

Ok this pop or hiccup or ‘whatever” which I’ve grown accustomed to over the years appears now to be happening almost on every disc and is quite annoying, guess I should have taken up James’s offer way back when try his.

Also I’m just now doing a comparative review between Sennheiser’s HD700 which I’ve had for a bit and their HD800s which I acquired yesterday powered by my BHA-1 with the BCD-1.
Anyway just had my brother, with better ears than mine take a listen, he was not impressed, so it’s possible that the sound from my BCD-1 has slowly but gradually deteriorated over time which was not obvious to me.

Time to get hold of Mike and send her up again, now when did I buy this thing?
