The only Denny's in my town is sort of in the stix.  Might not be too crazy.  Then again, I'm not sure a Denny's breakfast is worth braving the -5 degree cold!

Customers might think that Denny's is spending a fortune on them, but the biggest expense of all will likely be the Super Bowl spot. Thirty-second ads reportedly sold for up to $3 million. Because the cost of breakfast food is relatively low, said Marchioli, he thinks this could be a break-even opportunity for the company if just some people buy a beverage like a $1.85 coffee or $1.99 juice.

Don't forget to leave a good tip....

Free breakfast starts in an hour,,,, I'll be in bed by then.

You're better off. Free breakfast won't do it - they couldn't pay me enough to eat there.

  • I'm just not right!

Just a heads up on this one time free meal deal.   Dennys will also be offering a free Original Grand Slam breakfast to every American on their birthday!  :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

I'm screwed.  The lines will be terrible, it is 5 degrees out there, and today is my birthday.
No "rain check" for me!

I tried this a year ago, could not even get near the place.  They had college kids and old folks coming in by the busload. Cars parked a half mile back on the frontage roads.

Interesting, headed for the local Perkins instead, found them packed too and in a panic.

It seems like Perkins assumed business would be slow because everyone would be at Dennys so shorted themselves on help that morning.  Then because Dennys was a huge overcrowd and so many had their sights set on breakfast out, they amazing overflow headed for Perkins and others and made huge crowds there too. Perkins could not begin to handle the crowd they had and were calling other stores in the area far away from a Dennys to send over more help.

Regards,

Frank Van Alstine

I like Perkins. They're always clean, which is not true of the Denny's around here. The food at Perkins, while nothing fancy, is quite satisfactory. They also seem to hire a better class of employee.

  • Dutch and Dutch 8C's…yes they are that good!
I don't get it...what does this save people $4-5??

Is that worth the time and effort of waiting in long lines?

Amazing what people do for something that is "free".

In honor of Nadya "Octomom" Suleman, Denny’s Restaurants has added a new Grand Slam to their familiar breakfast menu, The Suleman Slam.  Here it is:

The Suleman Slam:
-14 Eggs
-No Sausage
-Everyone else in the restaurant picks up the tab
