[quoteResponse curves look good for the woofer. Sensitivity is 96.5db which is in line with what I expected. With the normal amount of crossover compensation to flatten out the upper midrange a system sensitivity of 93-94db is possible.]

What would the impedance window look like?

That really depends on the crossover, most likely in the 6-8 ohm range. If you have a high output impedance amplifier (SET,etc) a conjugate network can be added to flatten the load.

Probably closer to 50-55hz depending on the tuning of a ported enclosure. The fs of the woofer is 33hz so you'll still have decent extension below the -3db point.

Sounds good.  Will your demo be a sealed or ported enclosure?

Not sure yet what exactly we'll be doing but  I'll post here when I have more information.

What's the size of the bass cabinets you are considering?

Sorry - can't give out any information on that until we finalize the design.

Rick,

Do you have any comments/opinions etc. of the Fostex T500AmkII tweeter?

I don't think I've listened to it but some of the systems I've seen it in are terribly flawed. Integration isn't going to be very good when adding that tweeter to woofers 6" and larger. Off-axis response will suffer as well.

Why 6"?

I have the impression that you would make that comment about all horns.

The 6" and larger cones don't have wide enough dispersion to cross high enough for the Fostex tweeter. Many of the woofers also have upper end breakups that require a lower crossover point.

I don't have a prejudice against horns as long as they are properly implemented.

I suppose the reason I stated that is because I don't recall you ever using horns in any of your designs. Any example of horns that are properly implemented?

I don't receive many requests for designs using horns and high sensitivity has never been one of my priorities except for array designs. I've worked with horns in pro audio systems from other companies that worked well and some that weren't so good.

Rick,

How well will the TD15M woofer work with a passive radiator?  I know the enclosure will have to be twice the size but just curious. :eyebrows:

Sure you could use a PR but a large port would be fine.

Our customer decided to go in a different direction so I have two drivers available for sale. The woofer is an Acoustic Elegance TD15M (Apollo motor upgrade) and the ribbon tweeter is the Raven Line Source. I can also source additional drivers and design a kit (no cabinets) or an assembled pair with custom cabinets. Please email or PM here if you're interested.
