John,

Yeah, Hank's a real cheap-skate. :)  I've used the Dayton 8" woofer in roughly .77ft^3 and tuned around 30Hz for a sub.  Works pretty well, IMHO.  Those little 6" woofers from TB might be nice too.  I've not modeled them yet though.

Also, don't forget my TB towers.  Nine 871's and a high efficiency tweeter.

Brian, I had completely forgot! The Saturn, Pluto, Neptune... that one... :D You need to update your website ;-)

Thankx for the tip on the Dayton, I will look into that in a couple days. Can't actually do any modeling right now becuz my Windoze machine crashed again :cuss:

John,

I'm in the process of updating the website with these, my Metals, and several new subwoofers.  I should have it updated by the end of February with a completely new look to the site. :)

I got shipping quotes from Madisound for various orders. Looks like I'm up for about a 25% premium if I order a good amount of stuff. Plus 10% tax on the whole lot. That's the price you pay for living in paradise :?  I'll chew on it for a week and then place an order for some of these puppies. I'm keen to try them out.

BTW, why am I interested in these drivers? In general, I think that bigger drivers are just better. More cone area = less excursion = lower IMD = more natural sound. When was the last time you saw a 6 1/2" cello? ;-) However, I figure if you want to make compromises based on size/space, then make the right compromise, get what you can in the space you want. Hence my interest in building either big systems, or small ones. Compromise on either SQ or size, but not both :D

John,

Have you heard about the new 4" driver that Adire has coming out?  It's got an XBL^2 motor with approx. 6mm of Xmax.  IIRC, the prototype was flat out to about 14-15KHz, but production models should be flat to least 18-20KHz.  Dan Wiggins says that in a .2ft^3 enclosure they should kick the crap out of the 4" Jordans! :)

I was thinking about some new computer speakers using the TB 3"
drivers, look's like I'll wait to checkout Adire's new 4".

Brian, I saw Bob Reimer posted some info on the Mad board. Don't suppose you heard anything about a projected price range - ?
