I'm going to experiment...but here's something I tried this morning that helped somewhat and yet seemed counter-intuitive: After seeing some pictures of rooms with the Lorelei's, they seemed to be closer to the back wall than I had mine. Soooo...I tried two things: First, I put foam in the ports...bad idea, all the bass went away. Secondly, I moved them a foot closer to the back wall, reasoning that perhaps I was exciting a room mode where I had them first. Big improvement! I toed them in more, which brought more clarity to the midrange and moving them back still boosted the bass, but at a much lower frequency...as you might expect from the rear port. Now, they thump a bit on the foot sounds on Eric Clapton Unplugged, but the bass guitar frequencies, with the exception of the open 'E' sound great. More to come.
thanks!
