Anyone else had mail problems after getting an iphone? Since xmas mail on our 2,92 24" snow loepard imac has just gone south.
The mail icon keeps on disappearing from the dock.
Mail is searching for mail constantly when opened, but gets none
All mail is pushed to the iphone, even with the mail push turned off on the iphone.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?
Any help?

Mr C, I would guess that you are using a POP email server. Whichever device gets the mail first downloads it off the server and any other device then won't see it. There is probably a setting to tell both clients to not download messages off the server for a while. However the best option would be to switch to an IMAP server, which stores all messages on the server and you just read them from whichever client - check with your email provider, most everyone does it these days I think.

I have my yahoo mail set to keep messages on the server - I see them on the iPhone and the PC. If I delete a message, it is gone from the server, and therefore gone from view on any device.

Thanks when we get home I will look further into it, I am not sure what the settings are, but its a gmail account, so its probably a IMAP server. Its ok while we are away,
